Bulbury Woods Golf Club

First time playing here and it’s a very well kept tricky course. Some tight holes on the back 9 and some tricky ones on the front. Lovely place lovely staff and lovely facilities

We really enjoy playing here. Some very interesting and challenging holes......a really good mix!

The course was in good condition on the whole......the greens excellent....fast and contoured.

The staff are super-friendly. The pre and post game facilities are excellent. We were very lucky on this occasion to have secured a 'Hot Deal' price but even at full price, it's very good value for money.

We played here a couple of weeks earlier and there was a lad touring the course with a 'drinks' buggy. What a good idea but no sign of it on this most recent round, which would have been a godsend, as it was the hottest day of the year so far!

Great afternoon in the sun- greens were in fantastic condition and the bunkers well sanded. A good chalkenge

Myself and the wife picked bulbury at random on the way back from holiday, the staff (Michael) were absolutely hospitable and friendly, showing us where everything was (this doesn't happen enough these days!). The course was in great condition z make sure you go with accuracy everywhere, it really punishes you if you dont! The greens were brutal on the back 9! If in the area I'd definitely play again!

Glad we chose to play this. Very welcoming at and informative at the pro shop, good facilities and like the guide info says, you have to think your way round.

Played today and what a waste of time

Were 2 ladies in front of us who to be truthful were not quick , but in front of them were an alleged 4 ball with another walking , but they were all playing ,all 5 so by the 6 th they’d lost 2 holes , wouldn’t let the ladies through , and only when we got to the 8th and 2.5 hrs in would they even ask us , too late we had enough and decided to go in .

Told the pro shop member who admittedly went to investigate but of course they denied it ( we had watched them for 4 holes to make sure ) terrible as they were members , no refund or any offer . I’ve left good reviews here in the past , so only fair that when it’s no good people get to know it too .

Have played here a few times in the past, but this was the best condition I've ever seen the course in.

Well looked after by the greenstaff, fairways and greens were immaculate.

Watch out for the subtle borrows on those fast greens though!

Having read a review from 19 days prior, describing the greens as poor, I should have listened and avoided. The course should be shut until the problem has been dealt with. At least half of the greens have been ravaged by a fungal infection, rendering the surface a patchwork of bare earth. The practice green has been butchered for patches, but they haven't gone far enough. I feel sorry for the members. I have seen this same effect at Meyrick Park a couple of years ago. When a fungal infection of this nature hits, the outcome is brutal, but to allow people to pay money is outrageous. Simply put, the course should be closed until the greens have recovered, and with so much spring sun it is mond boggling that they haven't reseeded all the greens and dealt with it. If I were a member I'd demand the greenkeepers be flogged like errant sailors on The Bounty. I should have played at Wareham, which I played the week before and is in typically lovely condition.

Value for money, great course, and amazing staff! Always enjoy playing at Bulberry and if I lived closer I would be a member. Was a shame the group behind started to moan but that didn’t ruin the day

I've played Bulbury many times over the years and always been very good but unfortunately the greens are now unplayable with desease and bold patches, putting is impossible with all the bumps. Bulbury should really just make temporary greens and fix the issues before it loses all it's players. Let's hope they fix the greens sooner rather then later, unfortunately won't be going back until they do.

The Course was such a nice course to play on , some holes offering different capabilities of hardness and difficulty.

The man in the clubhouse was very nice and even showed us around when we arrived as he asked if we had played there before , which we hadn’t.

Definitely will recommend to my friend and will be playing again.

Play the course on Thursday loved the fairways and the challenge of the holes but deeply disappointed over the quality of the greens. The need some work to be done if they’re gonna be playable during the summer!

Unfortunately the greens had just had their spring renovation which spoilt the round. The course layout is a game of two halves. Front 9 being varied and up and down the back 9 being level and not as interesting.

Very friendly welcome at reception. Clear and efficient. The course is a nice layout let down at this time of year by the boggy conditions and resulting issues on the greens. The good thing was there were no temporary greens in play.

Only down side the tee mats were far to small and difficult to get a tee peg in
