Very disappointed

The best part of this course were the greens.

The bunkers were in a shocking state! Many had weeds growing in them and they all needed more sand adding. Only went in two myself but was like trying to hit a ball off the pavement.

Tee boxes were also in poor condition and could do with re-laying. It’s a real shame.

Poor tee condition

Played Bulbury Woods on 07/08/2019. The greens were in excellent condition and there are some wonderfully laid out holes on the course, particularly on the front nine. However, the tee boxes were in a terrible state, similar to that of the fields next to the course. Fairways were also a bit poor with very little grass cover in places. Stones in bunkers also. Overall, the course needs a lot of work done

Keeping up its high standards

I play at Bulbury Woods whenever I am in the area and that probably tells readers all they need to know. Many fairways are tree-lined and quite narrow, so inaccuracy off the tee will usually be punished. The course has recovered well from last summer's drought. Highly recommended for straight hitters, or those willing to take an iron off the tee nevery now and then.

A windy experience

I have always found Bulbury Woods Golf Course to be challenging and never playing to its distances. course was in good condition, greens were very good. Too many stones in the bunkers though I begrudge paying a lot of cash for a good sand wedge only to get it dinked by hidden stones.. Overal enjoyed the day I live locally so use it as a go too course every now and then.

Zu Voll

Für 2 Löcher haben wir fast 40 Minuten gebraucht, weil langsame Viererflights unterwegs waren. Wir standen zeitweise zu drei Flights am Abschlag. Haben nach 9 Loch aufgehört.

A course of two parts

With the exception of the 2nd hole, the first 9 holes are varied and interesting to play, especially the par 5 5th and the 8th. The second 9 holes, however, are a bit of a let down, which is a pity. The fairways tend to be rather narrow on many holes, with trees or woods on either side, ready to swallow up sliced or hooked drives.

We found the fairways parched, hard and brown in many places, but the greens were in good condition. It's quite a flat course, which is a plus, and generally not overcrowded in the afternoon. Definitely worth a try, although not the best 18 holes in the area. Very good value, though,

A fine afternoon's golf

Enjoyed the course (11 flat/tree-lined; 7 undulating). Greens in excellent condition but the tees have died in the hot weather. Course mainly parched but most are after 8 weeks without noticeable rain. There is a practice area between the 16th and the 17th.

Another good visit

This can be a challenging course as wayward shots will be punished. However It’s not long so irons off the tee prove to be a good option of keeping your ball in play. When we played it was in the middle of a really hot and dry period and like most courses, the ball was running miles. There’s not a lot courses can do to combat Mother Nature but what I would say is that the course is in good condition and in particular the greens were first class. We look forward to returning soon.

A gem of a course

We are moving to the area in October and as golfers we have been looking at local courses which we may join. After looking at and visiting a few we came across this gem of a course. It’s not long but accuracy off the tee is key. Fairways and greens were immaculate and each hole was different. Despite the fact our golf did not do it justice on this our first visit, it was really enjoyable and we will be back to play it again soon. After the golf we used the clubhouse facilities and found both the staff and members to be friendly and welcoming. If you are in the area do pay a visit as you will find the experience well worthwhile.

Very Good

I haven't played this course for a few years. The course was in fabulous condition - best I've ever played it! It was a complete bargain on tee off times!

The greens were a little slower than our home course but were running pretty true.

It is a fairly short course and is quite wide on most holes so is suitable for all golf abilities. Thanks
