Course in good condition.
Enjoyed the round on Sunday. Course good, not too busy. No hot food available at finish around 3pm.
First time coming to bulwell forest. Driven past it all my life. But thought I would give it a go. Booked tee off for 3.06pm there was bad weather in the forecast so first 3 holes was wet. Then the sun came out and I had a lovely round. Only a handful of people on the course braving it out. Didn't have any wait time at tee boxed and the course was lovely. Greens were in top condition and just loved the day.
Good course and great value for money
This course is good and great value for money. Lots of hill and dips which make you think more about the shots you play. Good range of hole. The 9th hole is furthest from the club house though so no stopping for a pint on the turn. Staff all great and good parking and clubhouse facilities. Overall good course will definitely be back again soon.
Amazing value
Played this course for the 1st time yesterday evening after a weekend of very wet weather. The course was in amazing condition. Bone dry and firm fairways and greens. Greens were in fantastic condition and very true. Great course layout, parkland and links style mix and lots of elevated tee shots which are really pleasing to the eye. We were the only ones on the course at 5.30 so millionaires golf. Such a great experience will definitely be back
Brilliant course greens brilliant me and the boys were welcomed by the pro in the shop very friendly lad nice one Bulwell 👍👍👍
Golf at Bulwell Forest
Course has really improved since I played here last
Greens were excellent and fareways well trimmed
Rate of play was relaxed no pressure
Good lovely game would recommend
5 Star Winter Course !
As most of you know, most courses you play in the winter you end up losing 12 balls a round in the fairway ALONE because of how much it plugs ! This is the best winter course I have played in a while. The grass was cut beautifully, not one bit of boggy mud on the course (my golf shoes were clean when I come off!!) and the greens were unbelievable considering the rain we’ve had the last few months. Too roll a putt without bobbling around mud and wet patches felt so good. Highly recommended for the price.
Fabulous condition
First time playing this course that had been recommended to me. Couldn’t fault it, the course was so dry under foot even an all the rain that we’ve had. The greens were in such good condition, better than some greens I’ve played in the Summer.
Interesting course to play . Definitely will be playing again.
The courses nice and compact
The course was nice and dry and the ball was bouncing on the Fairways and rolling really well great winter course
Good course for winter
Great course as always, great food beforehand and not to busy either so wasn’t hold up all round, coming from a 7 handicap player this course is great value for money 👌
Great winter course
Played twice in two days, having first played a couple of years ago. Only ever played in Winter (November /January) and it's as good a course as you can find locally for Winter courses. 18 regular greens on, no temps. Mix of regular grass tees and some artificial, but very good quality artificial. The course drains excellently, staying open and in great condition when others are closed/partly closed, we drove 40 minutes from Sheffield to play and it was worth it as no courses near us could offer as good conditions. Fairway mats are in use from 1st November, can be hired from the pro shop. Pace of play is good, but there's quite a bottleneck on the 7th/8th holes due to a shared fairway, so things can grind to a bit of a halt if players aren't sensible or mindful.
Chris in the pro shop is welcoming and friendly, as are the staff in the clubhouse. Be mindful that the bar closes around 3pm during the week (possibly only during winter?), so 19th hole may not be available if you're teeing off late morning.
Always a fantastic winter course, however..
Great course for the time of year, regular player here and the greens and fairways in the usual good standard.. they have introduced fairway mats which are literally horrendous and a waste of time, can't believe they are £3.50 just to hire.
Rough ground in between hols
Greens and fairways are ok but not enough established paths and signage. Some holes have bumpy rough ground to cross to get to fairway which with a trolly is tricky. Cheap golf but course needs a bit of investment.
Finally broke 90
Greens and fairways were both in great condition considering the recent poor weather
Shocking
This was probably the worst course I've played for a number of reason. First of all after starting the round the ques started on hole 3 and would last for the rest of the round. The course was in terrible condition only the greens was worth playing and then cos the local rude boys walking straight down holes while people are waiting to playing play dog walkers and the local crack head or 2. Never again I walked off at the 8th hole I'd seen enough
Some nice interesting holes
Good value for this course. Interesting holes and fair condition. For women it is quite challenging and sometimes difficult to find the t boxes! Not well signposted, but don't let that put you off, it's definitely worth playing.
