Good course - unbelievably slow
Enjoyed the course in decent condition, staff friendly, good facilities. However, it was the longest round I’ve ever played - waiting on every hole, too many players on the course and somebody somewhere causing a massive backlog - took over 5 hours!
Great value
A nice course, not the longest but plenty to think about. Greens were in very good condition but a little slow. Very friendly staff!
Great deal
Lovely course played for the first time. Greens were in excellent condition and great facilities. Course was very busy even with a late tee time, which meant a very slow back 9.
Nice course
The course was in great condition. Greens were a bit slow which helped me out haha.
The guy in the pro shop was very polite and helpful when I enquired about membership. £30 a round is a bit steep compared to other courses but hopefully will keep undesirables away. Great value to be had in joining, which me and my buddy are gonna do. I’m a high handicapper and found the course very difficult, a few long par 4’s were not reachable for me. Overall, I was very impressed and look forward to playing it more often.
Nice course but not too challenging
Having not played golf for nearly 2 years this course was perfect to get back into it. The holes were flat and mostly straight so was very forgiving. Not sure it would suit lower handicappers as they may find it easy/boring. Course was mostly well kept but bunkers were practically unplayable due to the lack of sand in them. Would be happy to visit again, though I feel £30 per round is little on the steep side considering other courses in the area
Great course
Thoroughly enjoyed the game, fun layout!
Only major let down was the poor service at the restaurant. Stopped for a bite to eat before the game waited almost an hour for a simple egg sandwich.
Winter Weather
The course was very wet very muddy but the greens were not too bad with the winter condition
Left after 9 holes. Too waterlogged, barely playable.
Poor greens
Would not recommend playing at the moment the conditions of the greens are terrible. I have played this course once before and had no issues so hopefully they resolve this quickly. If I had known about the condition of the greens before I would not had booked to play here.
Greens virtually unplayable
This is a decent course in the main, but it just so happened we’ played just after the greens had been hollowed tined, when there are hundreds of 10-15mm holes in the greens. I understand that this is necessary but if they were rolled as well it would be so much better.
That aside it’s a decent long course and value fur money.
Good value, very friendly staff and other players
Good value but you get what you pay for, bunkers have very little sand and greens need some attention. Was very very busy, back to back the whole way round but that's not the courses fault. Tees and fairways are fine, adequate challenge for your average golfer, nearly all greens perfectly flat
Excellent course but…
Had a great day at Calderfield golf & country today
Started with a breakfast, pitch & a putt then out on the course for 18 holes and finished with a refreshing drink in the 19th. Staff was all friendly & helpful. There was only 1 thing with the course that caught my eye today and it was the difference in the quality of the bunkers from around the clubhouse/pro shop compared to the bunkers further out, i.e no sand and grass growing in them but that was literally the only thing I could fault it for.
Definitely will return & thinking on joining as a member
Great Value for Money
Excellent golf course for the price - very well kept and will be visiting again.
Some improvement
Played here several months ago and said the course needs some TLC. Still have some little niggles to sort out, long rough in places, bunkers not good and need some maintenance and the greens are much better. Though some still need work (especially the 14th). Apart from that the course was good. Nice leisurely round with no hold ups. Said last time with a bit of work could be a good course!!
