What’s happened

Played this course a 6 weeks ago and couldn’t fault it, returned and the course was in a pretty rough condition specially the greens I would all most say winter greens patches holes very poor, we are back here for a overnight stay in the log cabin’s hopefully they will sort it out soon, off course is very good

The most overpriced course I’ve ever played

I don’t normally do reviews but honestly I could not believe the state this course was in for £35 (same price as the majority of courses around). The fairways were liveable but once again for the money not up to a half decent standard, the Tee boxes had signs missing. The greens as you will see pictured were honestly the worst I’ve ever seen it nearly unplayable (I’ve seen £5 pitch & puts with better greens). In conclusion if this course was £15 I’d of thought okay not bad but still rough but at £35 this is honestly not even worth entertains unfortunately.

In need of TLC...has a municipal feel

Course was quiet, not many playing on a lovely day. Green so slow and a little patchy. Bunkers neglected, not been raked during the day, Trees line the fairways and boundaries which is nice but they have encroached and are in need of some pruning/management. Signposting around the course is not what is should be. Rough is deep in places but generally fair.

It's a parkland course that is generally flat with up and back fairways, some water and trees. The basics are there but the care and attention is not all it might be. It's rare for me to say this but I didn't really enjoy it.

Shabby and tired. Needs a good mowing!

Very dissapointing. I think the club needs to take a little of that wedding venue money and buy its greenkeeper a mower or two. Greens were awful. Slowest i have ever played and look like they hadn't been cut for weeks.

Better local courses for less green fees.

Firstly lovely summer's day, haven't played here for a while. Same problems as before, bunkers are terrible & quite a few greens were browned out. Not good value for money, lots of local courses that have lower green fees and are in better condition. Pace of play was good & overall an average place to play, what a shame. Good lay out if maintained.

Great standard

Haven’t been to the course in a while but the standard is still maintained. Even with the warm weather the greens were in as good a shape as they could be.

Everything else was to a high standard and hopefully be back soon

Wet course

My review would have been lower if not for the friendliness of the staff. To be fair the weather had been very poor so the course was not at its best which I have tried to factor in. But on the day I was there the greens were not great. I think my expectations were quite high from the great reviews from other people. The bunkers were like a muddy sludge not great greens very wet fairways. Like I say I wasn't there on their best day

Very poor greens

Used to be a decent course but don’t know what has happened. I understand that we are just coming out of winter but the condition of the course was awful. The greens hadn’t been cut and were in shocking condition. For the green fee there are plenty better courses in the local area… won’t be returning

Calderfields

Played during winter conditions and happy to say no mats or temp holes. Course was in really good condition and pace was excellent with no slow play. Staff were very friendly and cart with food & drink available on course. This is a tough but rewarding course and I believe it is the 7th hardest course in Staffordshire with straight hitting a must. The layout can be slightly confusing on a couple of holes but staff are on hand to give directions and signs in use. It’s a tough challenge especially in the winter but overall an excellent course.

Well maintained

This is my local course but I don't play it often as I find it a bit boring! Let me explain.

Other than the 4 or 5 holes that go over the lake, most of the holes are long tree lined fairways, which is great for testing your distance of shot but not very challenging. A little disappointing as with a few extra hazards it could be an exciting course. Still worth playing though

Good course but overpriced

Course was in good condition apart from the greens which were bumpy! I thought the course was overpriced at £29.99, when you are able to play local council courses for around half of that price and that was the standard of the course. The pull trolleys were £9 each!!!

Staff were very helpful and friendly
