Very Poor

Poor playing surfaces throughout. Tees looked like end of season not new.

Fairways were poor and overgrown then bare in some areas throughout,

Bunkers had very little sand in them if any.

The greens were shocking. Bobbly Bare!Dug up in places covered in sand.

Total disaster of a course…

Even @ £155 for membership, that’s too much for this course.

Will not be returning,…………..

Calverley golf course

Absolute waste of time and money, nearly all of the holes were shut the ones that were open were playing of temp greens on the fairways, and the staff were unhelpful, not a good place to introduce a new player to the game ,on the other hand it could be a great course with a little time and money spent.

COURSE NEEDS SOME WORK

It might have been -1°C and foggy, but that still doesn't excuse the poor condition of the course.

Get your postcode right

I put the postcode as per the course website into my sat nav and it took me down a dirt track. I knocked on a house door at the end of the track to be told that there was no access now from where I was. I rang the club who were no help whatsoever. I will be seeking a refund from GolfNow but as they don’t seem to reply to previous emails I guess it’s time to steer clear of them.

The course is on the side of the road. Not sure how you missed it to be honest as it is signed for. Not sure how you have missed it so don't blame your mistake on the club.

Calverley golf club

Played on the 22/08/21 changed the course layout since I last played not a fan the fairways were in good condition but that was the only good thing, the greens were shocking some of the worst I've seen, holes in them pitch marks not repaired and large bold patches everywhere the tee boxes were in an even worse shape and the bunkers were not raked or looked after in any way some had little to no sand in them and to top things off every hole was poorly signed posted it was very disappointing. It was only £11 each on golf now but I won't be playing there again needs some serious TLC did see a sign for £155 pound a year for membership kind of says it all such a shame has the potential to be a good course

New to golf

Only having played golf a little while now, For me this course was really nice to play. The greens aren’t the best but I’ve seen worse. But over all for the money you can’t complain for a nice 18. Will go again.

Enjoyed the round

Arrived but needed code for the gate on entry, the chap in the club shop was very friendly and helpful. The course has a nice mix of holes and challenges and is kept fairly well. Some of the greens are poor and the layout is a little confusing. The hole information was missing on some holes however, the scorecard was informative though. Overall quite impressed and will be playing there again.

Is this a golf course

Started on a temporary green which was very poor condition and one of many.

It appears the layout has been changed recently and it isn't that obvious how to play the course.

Ending up finishing after 9 holes and unlikely to return.

I can understand work on a course at the start and end of a season, but very disappointed in Golf Now for not making me aware the course was being overhauled at time of booking.

Don’t

This could be good: but currently, it isn’t. Bunkers are overgrown, green staff cutting fairways, but no one working on the bunkers. Tees ok(ish). Greens are good, but have some patches. Mind you: so do alot of other places. Poor signage ( none) doesn’t help a visitor.

Value for money

OK, the bunkers are non existent as they need sand in them to qualify as a bunker, but once you get past that its a nice round!! Fairways nicely kept, no super long rough so if your not having the best of rounds you aren't worried about losing balls. The greens were well kept and quite easy to read so made my putting enjoyable for once! Signature 5th hole is a nice little mental challenge. Well worth the money, lower your expectations and just enjoy a nice steady round

Calveley gc.

Excellent value for money. Course set up challenging and interesting. Course upkeep could be better ie bunkers in poor condition. For the cost, would definitely recommend.
