Buffalo Creek Golf Club
About
Highly touted Buffalo Creek has been praised for its layout, condition, and overall attention to detail. No matter who you talk to in the DFW area, they all seem to praise the superb condition of the course from tee to green. Offering a 7,078-yard par 71 Jay Morrish/Tom Weiskopf design, Buffalo Creek offers a good combination of holes: straight holes, dogleggers, uphill and downhill shots, and both long and short holes.
One of the best features is the club’s method of using a pin location sheet to mark exactly where each pin is located on a particular day (up to six locations), which is unbelievably helpful to hacks who’ve never played the course before and have no feel for the look and contour of the greens.
Getting there : Take I-30 east from Dallas and exit Ridge Rd. Turn right and find the course 1.6 miles down on the left.

Slow play and lack of marshals
Extreme slow play and several groups unwilling to let single player play through…plus no marshals to keep players/groups moving with pace of play! Left after 12th hole at 3 hour mark
Working on the greens
Have always liked this course and they are working on improving the greens. They have some sort of root rot on some of the greens and are transplanting to fix the problem. They are working on the cart paths and area around the first tee box and the last par 5. That par 5 is affected as a result, but overall, once these things are complete this course will be a very nice course for the money.
Great Shape
We played 18 and enjoyed it thoroughly. The putting greens, fairways, and tee boxes were all in above average shape compared to other area courses. The greens were especially nice. I would recommend this course to anyone. The fb staff and clubhouse staff were efficient and friendly. They had beverage cart girls around the entire round.
Course in good shape
Course in better shape than a lot of other courses in the area. A few greens have new grass patches planted. Driving range currently closed due to a gas pipeline. But overall the course is up to par.
Wait till Construction is Done
They are in the middle of a significant amount of construction that impacts multiple holes. Driving rage is closed. If I ever play again I will wait till the construction is complete as it impacted play on several holes.
Course is in ok shape
I was playing in a foursome and there was a threesome behind us and a twosome behind them. We eventually had to let those two groups play through, which was annoying. The greens had seen better days and there was construction around the 1st and 16th holes. The construction also had the driving range shut down, which was very frustrating!!!
Awesome track!!! Been super wet and fairways were a little soggy but that to be expected. Greens were great tho!!! Hard and fast the way we like em!!! Wish I had more time to go back
Cart Girl Carey was terrific and John the starter was helpful and the check-in was easy. Course was in rough shape and the construction around Holes 16-18 was crazy. Had really hoped the course would have been winter seeded.
Buffalo Creek Golf Club
Beautiful day of golfing. It's winter in Texas so the fairways are dormant. Staff is friendly and if it's your first time they'll give you a course book which was a ball savor for me. There is no GPS display in the cart so the course book and a range finder are your friend. The last par 5 on the back nine was under construction so instead of it being a monster par 5 it was a short par 4, but that's temporary. Fun course, great value.
