Buffalo Creek Golf Club
About
Highly touted Buffalo Creek has been praised for its layout, condition, and overall attention to detail. No matter who you talk to in the DFW area, they all seem to praise the superb condition of the course from tee to green. Offering a 7,078-yard par 71 Jay Morrish/Tom Weiskopf design, Buffalo Creek offers a good combination of holes: straight holes, dogleggers, uphill and downhill shots, and both long and short holes.
One of the best features is the club’s method of using a pin location sheet to mark exactly where each pin is located on a particular day (up to six locations), which is unbelievably helpful to hacks who’ve never played the course before and have no feel for the look and contour of the greens.
Getting there : Take I-30 east from Dallas and exit Ridge Rd. Turn right and find the course 1.6 miles down on the left.

Under construction
This course was designed by Jay Morris and Tom wyskoff so I was anxious to play it. I'm from Missouri and have built a golf course and hired Tom weiskoff to design it for me. The course is called Old Kinderhook and located in lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. When we got to Buffalo Creek, we were informed, by a very friendly staff. I might add, that the driving range was closed and that parts of the golf course was dug up as they were putting in a large sewer line through the course and the driving range. It really only affected one of the holes but since it went through the driving range, that was closed. The practice putting green was not indicative of the rest of the greens on the course. It mostly slanted and there were basically no areas where you could practice a flat putt. Once that all gets corrected and the driving range gets back open and they're finished with the sewer line going through parts of the golf course layout, I would definitely go back. The price was very reasonable and the girl behind the counter was very nice as was the girl out on the drink cart by the name of Casey. Casey. She made great bloody Marys for an early tee time.
Greens have come back!
Course was in great shape only 4r 5 greens had bad spots that were small and less than 5% of the green was affected great to see the course recovering from the problems of summer.
Just bad timing
A beautiful course overall. They are doing some construction work on the driving range area and it bleeds over into some of the wholes on the back 9.
Great greens
The greens were well taken care of overall..only a few had repair/sand issues. Course was in very good shape. Best bunkers I have played in DFW. Small issues with limited yardage markers and No water on course?
Love this course
Always a good time. Pace of play was a little frustrating but it was a Friday afternoon and the weather was nice so understandably the course was packed.
Almost Back
Ever since the change in course management companies the ownership has invested a ton of money and resources to ger Buffalo Creek back to the premier conditions it once was in. They are almost back! Thatch was removed from the greens a couple of months ago, which made them almost unplayable. Was extremely happy to see the recovery since then. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape, as they've been all year long. Really enjoy playing BC whenever possible, and appreciate what the owners are doing to give us once again a premier golf course to enjoy.
Secret Of The Pros
Buffalo Creek is a beautiful course. There’s a lot of reviews on here on the green conditions.
If you complain about the greens feel free to meet me on the 9th green at 9 o’clock. It’s a secret of the pros.
Very Respectfully

Could be a nicecourse
This is a nice layout. Variety of shapes, elevation, and hazards. The greens were probably the worst I have ever seen in my 50+ years of playing golf. Some were cut to the roots, some were long. All were incredibly bumpy. There is probably a nice course to be had here, but they need to find someone who knows something about greens. I can’t convey how bad they were.
Greens are dead
Still charged 60$when 14 of the 18 are mostly dead. A shame because this is a really good course.
Greens among the worse in DFW
I was looking forward to the round based on the reviews, but I’m confused as to all the rave reviews. Course is in good shape except for the greens which are easily the worst I played this year. Many greens have a lot of dead patches, often more than 50% of the surface. Putting was often a joke as the ball bounced severely with many putts. Course has improved a lot but the greens are in very poor shape.
GEM OF A COURSE
Buffalo Creek is a beautiful course and can be very challenging.
People who leave bad reviews need to make sure they check for any “GREEN AERATION” alerts on GOLF NOW before complaining.
The Club aerated the greens a few weeks ago and they have been recovering exponentially by the day. Yeah aeration season sucks, but it’s necessary.
I play this course 2-3 times a week and have absolutely no complaints.
