Buffalo Creek Golf Club

About
Highly touted Buffalo Creek has been praised for its layout, condition, and overall attention to detail. No matter who you talk to in the DFW area, they all seem to praise the superb condition of the course from tee to green. Offering a 7,078-yard par 71 Jay Morrish/Tom Weiskopf design, Buffalo Creek offers a good combination of holes: straight holes, dogleggers, uphill and downhill shots, and both long and short holes.
One of the best features is the club’s method of using a pin location sheet to mark exactly where each pin is located on a particular day (up to six locations), which is unbelievably helpful to hacks who’ve never played the course before and have no feel for the look and contour of the greens.
Getting there : Take I-30 east from Dallas and exit Ridge Rd. Turn right and find the course 1.6 miles down on the left.

Great course
I've played here a few times and it is always in great condition. The lay out is challenging enough to keep you interested but not so challenging that you can't enjoy the round.
Poor Management
This is my local course. I play here a lot. Last year the course was fantastic. You got what you paid for. The greens were amazing.
I have seen this course crumble this year and after today I've had enough. It took 5 hours to play, which is the norm now with all the hacks out nowadays who thinks they can play. They allow groups of 10 out, yes I said 10, if they know someone in the pro shop which backs up the course big time. There were 3 groups on every tee box ALL DAY.
The greens apparently got some sort of disease as the GM stated so all summer and now fall, you will just be putting on a beach.
Long story short, if you know someone that works here you're permitted to play slow or have groups of 10. These hidden gems are turning into upgraded Top Golf attractions. Traditional golf is over, it's now a hack fest
First time playing, and will definitely be back!
Course conditions were optimal when we played. Fairways were in good shape, rough wasn’t too thick but offered enough of a punishment that hitting the fairway was rewarded, and greens were pretty fast and consistent. Played my best round in a few years and the mix of difficulty between the holes kept it interesting!
One of the best!
It's a really nice course. Great layout, good food at the grill, super nice staff.
Inconsistent
This course is usually in great shape, and one we play, for a challenge and don’t mind paying up for., and consider a value for what you get. Unfortunately, the greens were not in good shape, and very inconsistent in regard to firmness and grass cut. I can only assume that they are punching soon, hopefully. Rough in some places was ridiculous, looked more like areas were missed by the crew.. Staff are always nice. Time for new carts w/gps.
Great course as always fun to play
They take very good care of the course so always fun to play. But man please put water buckets on the course during the summer. Took forever for a cart girl to show up and was really thirsty
Buffalo Creek
Overall the course was in great condition. Awesome layout. Just right amount of elevation not to hilly. The only issue was green on number 8, par 3. Practice facility is great short game area , sand and putting. Overall Buffalo Creek is a goto!
Great Course and well maintained
Amazing course and well maintained. Greens were well maintained. The cost could be a little low to make us repeat visitors.
This course is in great shape and has a fun/challenging layout. If the greens could be faster it would have been superb for the green fee. Great price point. Almost on par with Heritage Ranch and it’s $50-$60 cheaper. Will return.
Buffalo Soldier
The course is very well maintained. All with the exception of 1 green were excellent. The last par 3 on the front 9, hole #8 has some POA. Everything else was perfect. Great value and a beautiful course. I’ll be back. One note the carts are a little beat up and no GPS BUT they did tell me that they are getting new carts soon. I don’t recall exactly when but maybe in a month or so. Also they give a free small bag of range balls (30 or so) a very classy gesture. Also free coffee. Everyone is friendly and the pro shop is well stocked. This was my 5th round in about 18 months. I like to hit it up during the week when I get a random day off.
Love it
Love this track. They just punched the greens but leveled it with sand so it was slow and not too bumpy. Should play well in a few weeks. Was in great condition otherwise. Friendly staff, good pace of play. Definitely recommended!
Mostly good, some not so good
The good: tees and fairways. 15 of 18 greens. bunkers. golf shop staff. pace of play for a weekend morning. layout. My driver and putter.
The not so good: Carts are in really bad shape. 3 greens virtually void of good grass. Being asked to keep up with group in front of us when we (3some) waited on every shot. My irons.
