Golfer Reviews
Lovely, friendly atmosphere
My first time out and what a delightful way to start. This is a short but challenging course. Great value for money and the most welcoming manager I've ever met. I'll be back many more times.
Surprisingly challenging golf course!
This golf course I thought would be a straight forward simple course. It's far from it! It has some wonderful holes (particularly the 1st and 3rd) which require you to keep your nerve. This course is unreal in the summer. Tree lined, lovely fairways and the greens are brilliant. Can get a little rough in the winter but that's just its location.
I would say this course is great value for money.
Great fun
Great fun little course with staff very friendly and helpful as always.
Very pretty course - Amazing value for money
I had a wonderful time at Chesham & Ley Hill GC. Considering the awful recent weather the course conditions were remarkable. Fairways and tee boxes remarkable and only one (very playable) winter green. The permanent greens all played true.
A couple of great holes - especially par 3 3rd. The course is very picturesque, but the hilly nature was a good for fitness.
Wonderful friendly staff and good, welcoming clubhouse atmosphere afterwards.
Nice little course
Nice little course very woody some tight spots to play in
Friendliest club around
Course ok for time of year, mid winter. Staff and Brandy the dog first rate, very friendly.
Very disappointing - save your money
I paid £22 for a round here which was a complete rip off. The tee boxes, fairways and greens (see attached) are all in dreadful condition even for winter golf. I’d highly recommend saving your money or playing elsewhere. There’s plenty of other clubs in the same price point which are far better around that area. One positive was the staff and members were all friendly and the pace of play was great as there was no one on the course. Was hoping to get a full refund from the pro shop but no one was around so that’s £22 I’ll never see again.
Great little course
Nice 9 hole course with an interesting layout. Very quiet in the morning. Great value for money!
Great course but could be better
So I played the double nine hole course, overall the layout was good though the course was let down by the greens, large patches on quite a few of the greens that were missing grass, though that's the only thing to improve, overall I found it good value for money, some challenging dog leg holes, if recommend to others to give it a go, and if the greens were repaired if consider joining.
Great course
I enjoyed playing this course and look forward to playing it again, one small criticism, would be the lack of grass and bald patches on the greens, though it didn't really hinder my play, overall a good quick paced course with some challenging holes.
Found by accident, will return regularly
The 9 hole course is just right in it's set up and difficulty but it was the staff that shone for me. All were helpful, nothing was too much trouble and I would go back there when the opportunity arises
Unfriendly Venue
Have visited this course a number of times due to its location, unfortunately the welcome is always quite poor / non existent
Tight and attractive
A lovely setting, with some tight fairways. The greens are generally small so accuracy is at a premium. The greens were undergoing routine maintenance when we played.
Great value course for the money perfect for 9 holes after a days work
A real test
A gem of a course, always playable and well cared for, greens small and true.
Although short you need to be on your game to play to your handicap here.
Like the 3rd but also 5th and 8th.
Good course - drains too well
Had an enjoyable round. First one out so no pace issues. Great course for practising irons and short game. Only issue is that the course drains so well it plays very solid, ball can run out an extra 15-20 yards if hitting fairway to what you'd usually expect but all in all, would return.
