Terrible Greens

The greens were overgrown and were more like fairways. Fairways had weeds all over the place. Gone downhill.

Poor condition

£38 for a course with very poor greens and even worse bunkers. The p LMK aye was incredibly slow due to l I to of teenage four balls messing around. Horrible experience.

Course conditions

This course has some wonderful holes the layout is very good , I have played here for years and still find the same problems exist year after year .

To be honest its a no brainer .

Tee boxes need to be flat even if there is a lack of grass , its like teeing off of a camels back on quite a few holes , (EASY SOLUTION, ROLL THEM FLAT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS!!!!!!!!!

Greens , now we all know greens are different to maintain , but they need a lot of work , they need spiking and rolling on a regular basis, cutting then would also help , on a plus note the fairways were in better shape than a couple of the greens .

Bunkers are what you would expect ,most courses would have teas GUR.

SCORING ON A 1 TO 10

course layout 8/10

Greens 3/10

Fairways 7/10

Tee boxes 2/10

Will I continue to play here ? Yes but this course could be so much better .

Greens in terrible contition

I enjoyed the course and the layout.

They were doing extensive work on the bunkers dome had been completed. I'm sure in a short time they will all be good.

The greens were all in a very poor condition which ruined the experience although to be fair the practice putting area prepared you for what was to come.

Pity about the greens

A great golf course at a good price. Almost every hole has its challenges. Very attractive setting with some great views across the countryside. I particularly like the par 3, 4th. A 175 yard pitch down a steep hill.

What’s not to like? We’ve all been there, lovely iron shot to within 6 feet. Then your putt heads straight for the hole only to bobble to one side and miss. Unfortunately every green at Little Hay does this. All puts are random and uneven. I’ve played here in all seasons and weather conditions. The greens spoil every hole… and then there’s the dreadful bunkers…

Poorly Maintained

This is a £20 per round course at best, the greens are really poorly maintained.

The bunkers (sadly i found a few of them) were mostly like hitting off of concrete.

Our Tee time was running 10 mins late, we were told in the reception (not a pro shop) that we could tee off 10 mins early, ended up with 3 groups all playing the first few holes back to back.

Tee boxes are poorly maintained with some of the tee positions missing.

Its a great learers course but really shouldnt be charging £35 for something so poorly maintained.

A Day Out

We drove 25 miles to play a new course. Relatively cheap golf and the course sort of reflected the price paid. Nice layout and pretty in places. Fairways generous. Greens were not good though, bobbly and slow. Overall decent value for money but can't recommend except for a change. Also very busy Wednesday afternoon. Great bar with great food.

Disappointed

Can i start by saying i really like little Hay i have been coming back here for a good three four years. The course is great pretty open good for beginners.

The reason i have put disappointed in my title was because this is the first time i left half way through a round the greens are in such poor condition they’ve been spiked but not sanded. One the first green you can see clearly the last 3 or 4 pin locations because the replace is rattling around like a tablet in bottle.

The fairways were ok just needed a cut. There is range balls everywhere on this course as well its crazy.

I stress this is the first time i have been so disappointed coming here normally it is a top notch course one that i have recommended to societies to come play. Hope it improves soon.

Mixed bag.

Not sure how to rate this course. Its got great potential to be great but.....

The greens were not good, in fact they were terrible. I enjoyed the course from the 7th hole onwards. Its a bit basic up to that point, from the 13th its really good. But again the greens were poor. I know this time of year its only recovering from the UK winter but other courses manage to do a lot better with their greens. Also some of the tee boxes need flattening out. Some are in a very poor state. Such a shame, this place could be so much better.

Good layout

The course has suffered from the bad weather this year, greens not good, hopefully good weather will bring the course back to a good standard.
