Excellent as always
Always enjoy playing at Colmworth GC. Lovely clubhouse for brekkie before a round and a beer after. Really friendly staff. always a nice relaxed round with the 10 min tee intervals. I’ve played at Colmworth many times over the years and the course itself has always been in very good shape, however this year, there is a notable improvement, particularly in the quality of the greens, and especially so on the ‘back 6’.
Overall, really great golf club, well worth a visit
Great improvement
All aspects of the course have improved in recent months. Greens in excellent condition. Great credit to the staff.
I keep coming back here!
One of the things I like about this course is that they have early, REALLY early tee times. I booked today for 5.20 AM. 18 holes later - just 2 hours 31 minutes - and I'm back at home at 8.30 am!
Nobody else around didn't even see a green keeper until 7.30 am.
It's a lovely course, with some challenging holes - well, they are for a 23 handicapper anyway - with always the opportunity for a par or a birdie.
Obviously, the clubhouse isn't open; if you come later, they do a cracking bacon/sausage/egg roll...
Give it a go.
Hidden Gem
Really enjoyed playing this track, Good layout and course in great condition given the amounrt of rain recently
A hidden Gem
Great course to play, fairways and greens very well kept.
The staff were very friendly along with the fellow golfers we met on the course.
I will be definitely recommending this my friends and family.
Interesting course
Course in reasonable shape for winter. Major problem is that my 2 ball was paired with another 2 ball unbeknown to us.
Round took 5 hours because the other 2 ball were non golfers and we had to let other groups through.
Colmworth
Friendly staff and great restaurant/cafe.
Despite the previous heavy rain the course was in very good condition, some of the tee boxes were not brilliant and the odd bunker but everything else was in top shape.
Bunkers
All bunkers need racking all wet and hard ..rest of the coarse was very good
Nice course; excellent clubhouse and staff.
This is a very friendly club. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The food was freshly prepared and tasted great. There are always lagers and Guinness on draft. The course is very well maintained and interesting to play. My only negative is the condition of the bunkers. I was only in two, but they both had little playable sand in the bottoms and too many stones. If you open up your club face, even on a lob wedge, you’re going to bounce off the bottom before striking the ball. If the bunkers were improved, this would be a 5-star rating and Colmworth would be my favourite course in the area. I love the course and club…I just manage my game to avoid the bunkers whenever possible. And the 19th hole is enough to make me forgive the bunkers.
First time playing Colmworth and I will give it another go for sure.
Pace of play on the day was slow so I skipped a couple of holes, but I was playing as a single.
Course was well maintained and the greens were good.
£3.50 for still water was a bit steep so I’ll bring my own next time.
Colmworth’s always great
What can I say really other than my review title colmworth certainly is always great, we’ll maintained course always, staff friendly always, cakes are to die for, food is great freshly prepared every time. Local honey it amazing and I buy a jar every few times I visit. I even tried to persuade my partner to have our wedding here overlooking the beautiful flagship 12th but unfortunately I don’t think she could trust me not to disappear off and play a couple of holes
This course is a great testing course
Great course with some great holes. The 12th is the signature hole and also a potential card wrecker. The only thing I'd say is that the sand is in the bunkers is way too hard and unforgiving. The staff are very friendly and the clubhouse and outside seating is great too. I'd recommend the scotch eggs after a hard round!
Nice holes
Course provides holes which vary in difficulty. Good day out. Could do with the bunkers being filled with fresh sand
Lovely course
Had a very pleasant early morning (6:30) round this morning.
Course was well laid out and tended. A good mixture of straight & dog leg long par 4’s. Some tricky pin positions on the par 3’s to keep things interesting.
Greens were as expected for the cost of a round, couldn’t complain.
Great cafe/restaurant for afterwards.
Will be back again! 👍🏼
Good well maintained course
A good course. Well maintained fairways, greens and bunkers. Perhaps holes a little lacking in variety. Having said that, I would play here again.
