Almost great

Good bits -

A really well laid out track which is fun to play.

Decent practice facilities

Good beer selection in the bar

Pro shop is pretty good.

Other golfers on the course were very friendly

Bad bits -

Lots of holes in the greens from rabbits

Even in early May lots of large cracks in the ground - clay soil.

So many range balls on the 18th fairway it’s easy to lose your own.

Could do with clearing the dead leaves from ditches, too easy to lose balls in there.

*** worth noting, but not necessarily a negative - very slow greens which suits me, but not everyone’s taste.

Great course for the money, helpful staff, good pace of play. Bit hilly in places and some greens were a bit iffy. Would definitely recommend and play again

Good Course, Moderately Challenging,

My wife and I played Mowsbury Golf Course this weekend and really enjoyed the round. The course was well looked after and in great condition, and the greens were pretty decent and rolled nicely. The layout was enjoyable and forgiving enough to make for a relaxed game. The only downside was the signage between holes, which we found quite poor and a bit confusing at times. Overall, a very pleasant course and one we’d happily return to.

Course was good, people were questionable.

The staff were friendly, food was good.

But the greens and fairways weren’t the best.

We had people hitting balls into us, even though we were moving pretty quick, and were right behind the group in front.

We saw a young lad throwing his wedge across the green, ripping up some turf.

Good course, we might’ve just got unlucky with some animals in front and behind.

Nice and affordable course

First time playing this course and it was good and really enjoyed it. The layout is class. Especially the 2nd par 3 on the back 9, incredible views and a lovely shot off of a hill side.

Great price, course condition was good, a couple holes needed some more TLC in the bunkers but other than that, we had no issues.

Definitely would play again

The course itself is well recommended. Though we played when weather had been very dry and fairway was cracked in places, the greens were is very very good condition.

Layout was good with some interesting, technical holes.

Holes and more holes

From start to finish this course condition is shocking , bunkers with big stones fairways that have big holes and cracks, bare areas that aren’t just divots, the greens are sparse with weeds and patch’s grass that needs cutting, also like a household green. At £25 a round or more it’s way overpriced the buggies are dirty and damaged again at £25 well overpriced, I wouldn’t play here again. It seems like they don’t have a green keeper or he must be on a long holiday. Check the photos, how bad can it really get..

Yikes!

The course was in such terrible condition. I've played here many times and although it's never been a superb course it's always been very playable and a decent course to play. Right now it feels like it's been abandoned. The fairways were rough and in generally terrible condition. Huge cracks in the ground, large holes randomly. Greens were uneven, patchy with areas that were either dry with no grass on it and some that were mossy and again huge chicks out of the surface too. I would upload images but the app won't let me right now.

In summary this course is need of desperate attention. Was sad to see how bad it was.

Typical Municipal run on a budget

The course has a decent layout with wide fairways and sloping greens. Friendly reception at the proshop and a good bar area, with unfortunately, a miserable female bartender

The tee boxes were well worn and need of refurbishment, there was a large number of huge cracks in the fairways due to drying clay, could easily break an ankle, you must stay alert! Bunkers were rough and many unraked, typical for a municipal course. The greens were acceptable although slow, but the balls did roll well with a good strike.

At nearly £100 for a 3ball we wouldn’t return as there are many other courses in great condition which are better value.

Average public course with good greens

Tee boxes very worn, fairways had too many rabbit wholes the size of your foot. Many old bunkers were GUR filled with dirt. No directions signs on 3 holes. Dog leg holes would benefit with marker poles in the center of the Fairways. Greens were good, even when some repair work had been done.
