Cossy on a cold day

Few folks were out playing before lunch which gave an open course. It was cold and had been wet so greens slow. Course overall good condition.

Good value for money course

Course was very good given the time of year, some of the greens had been spiked, but no temporary greens or tee off mats which was a bonus. Course was not busy so speed of play was great with no hanging around for other golfers to tee off. Course has a few challenging holes with some water hazards to contend with. The weather on the day was not great being very damp misty and some of the greens still a bit frozen, so this added to the challenge.

Using the Golf Now Hot Deal this was fantastic value for money

Good value for money when on offer. Very wet conditions under foot but in the summer I'm sure it will be nice. Greens maintenence but not overly challenging. In all a good day out playing golf

Really good value

It was wet - one of the drawbacks of playing in December but the course held up ok. Really friendly welcome, although would have Ben good to have a coffee when we finished but the bar/cafe had shut.

Will definitely return for a game in the summer. Course is tricky in places, goes up and down as well as left to right and right to left so plenty to keep you thinking

Greens sopping wet, but what can you do.

Very good course, nice layout and round was only £9.99 on a hot deal. Greens were awful in terms of moisture retention, soaking wet golf shoes now but it's to be expected in December. Pretty well maintained, enjoyed the open fairways. Lot's of par 4's though. Would like a few more Par 3's.

GREENS WERE A LOTTERY

We like this course which we play every 6 weeks or so. It was great that it was open this time, given the overnight frost and temperature (around 2 degrees). The day was bright and sunny and there was little wind. Our only gripe was that there was still a layer of frost/snow on pretty much every green. Anyone playing in these conditions knows that the ball picks up a lot of ice and slush and it is impossible to putt normally. Eventually I took to scraping a clear run from the ball to the hole which gave me a chance of draining putts. But the grounds staff could easily have gone out early and cleared the greens. That's my only complaint. Otherwise a great day. Shame about the scores (and number of putts taken!).

Potential but needs investment and tlc

Fundamentally this could be a great course.

However, even allowing for the time of year, it needs investment. Tee boxes mostly lacking grass and if there is any it is very patchy. Fairways had good grass cover but had not been cut in a long time and were more like the first cut of rough. Greens in decent nick, but very soft and retaining a lot of moisture.

That said, it is inexpensive to play. I’d rather pay 20% more in return for a better course.

Otherwise there are some odd holes with tree placements that are a bit baffling. Nothing that could not be easily fixed and improved.

winter conditions in october

what a shame the beautiful course layout was in need of tlc, the tees were long, untidy, the fairways on front 9 very bad, no grass ,bare, tined, the greens were very slow need a trim as otherwise quite good,as we paid £60 for the two of us I think we should have paid £30. as conditions were bad.The staff was ok,not very cheerful on arrival.personally should have a £30 refund. We should have been told about the conditions before we teed off.

Stunning course very lush.

As always enjoyed playing this track. With some tricky holes where being long isn’t always the best option.

Really makes you think about positions of your approach shots.

Fairways where lush and green and in good condition.

Greens where nice a little slow but true. Overall enjoyed our day..

Lovely course

The course is back to its lush green best. Greens were perfect. Tricky little course with lots of trees. Keep it down the middle to get a good score.
