Really enjoyable course, Greens in perfect condition

Unfortunately, our front nine was spoilt by a very slow 2 ball who would not speed up or let us through.

It rained most of the afternoon, but we enjoyed the course. Some fairways a bit bare but understandable after the hot weather. The greens were the best I've ever seen them, playing here for 14 years. A credit to the greenkeepers.

Golf

A group of us decided to take advantage of the nice weather on BH and play a round of golf and booked Crane Valley. We were not disappointed, the course is in good condition esp. considering the hot weather recently, The greens were in excellent condition and made putting challenging.

As a 4 ball we ended up letting a couple of 2balls through but the time was acceptable for our round, and most of the group managed to only loose one ball.

Overall a very enjoyable course and day. We will be back!.

Revisited after 18 years

Used to play CV many years ago when I lived locally, was back in the area this weekend so took the opportunity to pay a visit, It used to be a members club, but now appears to be part of a group, I’ve always liked the layout, but have to say the condition is. A long way short from what it was, the bunkers were appalling, and many areas were unkept, tee boxes were probably using the same little strip they had done for ages, despite the large holes it was difficult not to stand in.

Great Fun In The Sun!

The course was bone dry after several weeks of little rain. You certainly got value for your shots, as the ball would run on and on! The downside was that your shot, upon landing on the hard ground, could often take a very nasty kick. The greens had been lightly dusted with sand to slow them down a little. I thought this was a good idea and they played at a consistent pace all the way around. Despite the course being busy, the pace of play wasn't too bad and, being a 2-ball, a couple of groups in front of us were courteous enough to wave us through.

The clubhouse facilities are excellent and you could quite happily bring friends/family here for food and drinks without the need to play golf.

All in all, a very enjoyable experience and I'd happily recommend playing here.

Great value for money course

Great value for money course, a good test for your average golfer, greens are a little furry and bobbly which would be my only criticism, apart from that was a great round in the sun

Shame about the foul mouths in the club and course

Lovely staff very helpful, just a shame about the foul language on the course and in the clubhouse, I don't expect that kind of language at work, which is shipbuilding.

Easy laid out course - open good fairways

I’m a high cap player so the course for me is easily playable- wide open and quite forgiving. It has some tricky holes but nothing too challenging, so very enjoyable course

Beautiful course

Had the pleasure of playing here for the first time on Monday. The weather was fantastic and the course was in such great condition, the staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival, and accomodating as we were late to tee off because of an accident on the way in. Fairways and greens were perfect. Club house bar was well stocked also with friendly staff, we enjoyed a few drinks on the terrace watching the players come in on the 18th. Highly recommended, can't wait to play again.

Crane Valley Main Course

Generous fairways on most holes, but still has a few challenges to offer. Probably a few too many bunkers/ hazards around the 200yd mark which would bore good golfers and frustrate average golfers. But, overall, a good and intesrting course.

A little known gem of a course

From the very first hole, it'll be easily realised that the fairways are as important as the greens. You won't be disappointed@

Some improvement but greens still struggling

Used to be a member, they are trying hard and making improvements to tees, paths, thinning some of the wooded areas etc and will all pay dividends in summer but greens still covered in bare patches from disease in autumn. Hopefully will grow in soon and get course back up to a solid 7/10 and good value.
