The Quarry Golf Course
About
The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Great course fast greens
The course is great , challenging for any level. The greens are extremely fast the could be toned down a bit to make it more enjoyable. The pace of play today was very slow, we took five hours and waited at every hole.
Nice course in the middle of town
Great course, round, weather and service. The only comment is that if you book through golf now you do not get range balls which seems kind of cheap!
Great round of golf
Course was in great shape, the greens were perfect. They were slow but it rained in the morning so I guess they didn't get the daily trim. The carts are nice, super plush seats, have never seen a cart with seats like that. The staff were great, it slowed down a little on the back nine, but after finishing we realized we had finished just under 4 hours.
Very special layout
Great course with two different nines. First 9!with ondulación, water and wind, 2 nine within the quarry with nice views and challenging risk reward hikes.
My only remark would be to offer practice balls on all instances. I book online on GolfNow and get the hot deals but these do not include some range balls which seems cheap from the club and at a high price. The hot deals help the club fill unpopular spots but don’t include the full experience without the range balls.
All in all a great experience great club and course
Unique course backdrop. Down in the Quarry.
First time playing here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Practice putting and chipping areas were spacious and well maintained. Practice putting green didn't look slow but it was very, I mean very slow. The course greens were similar, very very slow. I never really got the pace down. Practice tee area was on mats which were short and firm. Irons only for some reason. Small bag of practice balls were complementary. Carts were electric and had plenty of go juice. GPS and interactive hole layout map included on carts. Cart would stall if you drove into an area they considered off limits but these areas were not marked with stakes. Had to reverse out to reset cart. Course was moderate length, 4 tee boxes to chose from plus forward tee for juniors or short hitters. Front nine was moderate challenge, back nine (the Quarry) was more challenging with a few longer holes. Very unique and picturesque! Front nine fairways were firm, back nine were much softer. All Fairways seemed to need a good overseeding as kinda sparse and not as full like you'd like to hit irons off of for this price. Greens were not ball marked. Well taken care of for the amount of play. Can't help but say again how slow the greens were. Bunkers were well maintained and Full/deep with fluffy sand. Not to my liking as ball would always bury or fried egg. Pace was excellent! Starter gave us a few hints before we started and started us on time! No on course Marshall which was nice. Bar had reasonable beer prices and attendants cleaned our clubs. Tip given. We will play here again! 4 Stars as greens were just much too slow and fairways were slightly sparse. I shot 86. 4 three putts on slow greens.
Two unique nines
Love playing the Quarry. Front and back nines so different, which makes for an interesting round. Beautiful views of quarry on back. Good pace overall, but could have improved a bit. Played with another couple and they were good company. Good breakfast before the round. Very friendly and professional staff at all points. Will go back, for sure!
My Kind of Quarry
Hands down the best golf course in San Antonio! By far my favorite. I play it often and just wanted to do a review to show The Quarry some love.
