The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Great course, but disappointing that they don't honor golf now tee times same as tee times booked on their website; similar courses with similar green fees include bottle of water and range balls....except quarry.

Afternoon

Purchased a “hot deal” on GolfNow and it was worth it! Course was in great shape! Pace of play was a bit slow but I think it was just the group ahead of us. Tee times at every 10 minutes was good, never felt rushed.

I drive out from Houston just to play

This is a main attraction fore from the Houston area. I'll make. a weekend of it and hang out in the city. Usually hit Sea Island near here. This last time playing was a ball!! Actually a extremely rare time i hang out at course afterwards. Met a cool guy on course nad they had Live music till 10pm on the patio. Very good time.

Fun afternoon at the Quarry

Had a great round at The Quarry today. GolfNow Hot Deal for $45 was too good to pass up and I also had a $10 tee time voucher expiring on Friday that I had to use, so that was even better. Fairways were in great shape as were the greens. Greens were rolling a little slow, but held the line appropriately and tan true to the reads overall. Managed to play 18 holes in 3:55 and finished just after sunset which was perfect.

Good outing

Fairways are very good and greens are decent ..just takes too long to play 18 holes at this course!..4:30-5 hours..Come on Man! There’s a Marshal but, I guess it’s just for show and unlimited golfing. Nevertheless, All is well!

Great, Fun, Gorgeous Course

Had 4 old Army Brothers meet up in SATX, and we played the Quarry first day. What an amazing time, even after a horrendous thunderstorm hit SA the previous night. It was cart path only, which we expected, but we had a great time. Staff was great, Cart Girls were Hot, and plenty of Water stations on the course. Will surely be back next time in the Alamo City. 5 Stars

Course is in really great shape, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Definitely feel like one of the higher-end public courses out there. My only comment is that while the greens look beautiful, they’re incredibly slow. But other than that, I’ll definitely be going there again.
