The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Sunset over Stacks

As the sun set over the stacks while standing on 17, I could not imagine a more picturesque place. The back 9 never disappoints. Greens have almost completely healed from aeration a few weeks ago. Go play and enjoy!

Best value for your money

Plain and simple - you are getting what you pay for. Easily worth it. Luckily I played on discount rates and felt like I owed them money after playing my round. Great course. Great staff. Felt like I was at a quiet CC in the middle of San Antonio. Do not hesitate to book a round. The back is beautiful and unique. The front plays like a well groomed track.

Disappointed

Booked through Golf Now. Purchased range balls only to find practice range was mat only and irons only. Golf cart stalled on second hole due to cart path only (no warning or signs) Golf cart stalled again on subsequent hole as i approached the green from the fairway. Again no sign or warning. The greens were recently aerated but no one in the pro shop informed me prior to the round. BTW Golf Now posts aeration notices when the course notifies them. I salvaged the day but i have to admit i was deeply disappointed and frustrated for the first few holes. I have to say this is not normal for The Quarry. They are among the best at delivering a pleasant gold experience. I guess even the best have off days.

Fun!

The course was I. Good shape. Not super difficult which made it more fun. At here was a breeze, which was nice as I hear the back nine and get really hot as you are in a quarry. I would probably play more but the rates are always pretty high. I got lucky and snagged a great deal. The course was very quiet, you would think if they lowered their rates just a little it would probably fill in nicely. I would definitely play more often.
