The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Nice friendly staff.

This course is way overpriced. I think it is surviving off of it's old legacy from years past. I assume the tourist trade is willing to pay the green fees, probably because they do not know there are much better conditioned SA courses available at lower rates. The novelty of being built down in an old Quarry is wearing off. I did find the staff to be very courteous, helpful and super nice.

Worth a try

Really nice course in a quarry. Pace of play is an issue do to a high volume of patrons. Played during high winds which made the course more challenging.

Challenging and enjoyable course

Perfect weather helped. Course in great condition. Friendly staff. Very nice practice area. Rare to ever have a flat lie, so lots of opportunity to be creative with shots. Greens were challenging and fun. Look forward to playing again soon! Would have liked the snack bar to stay open beyond 2 pm. Otherwise a great experience.

Great San Antonio golf course

This is one of San Antonio’s best golf courses nestled just north of downtown. It has great views and with some challenging holes. Their staff is very friendly, they have a nice bar/grill area and I enjoy playing this course every time I go,

Good amenities

For the price of the game I was informed practice balls were not included. Was paired with an unknown individual, I feel that safety protocol is lacking during these times. I don’t mind sharing a cart when I know the person but, not with a stranger.
