The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Great Time

Came early and ate a good breakfast. Good service. I came in as a single and they put me with two great guys. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in perfect condition. Greens were slower than I prefer but rolled true. Entire staff were very helpful and nice. Got my tee time on TeeOff.com for $66. This course is only 15 minutes from downtown. Had a great time.

A 5 star experience (I’d give 6 if I could)

The Quarry experience is excellent all round. From the quality of the food ( best sausage taco and best omelettes ever) to the friendliness of the staff, the well appointed golf carts with hi tech features, free tees , range balls, towels, and the immaculate fairways and greens. And very pretty to look at. Superb all round. Can’t wait to go back.

Good Course, Slow Greens

Like the course, nice layout and scenic views on the back nine. One complaint: the greens were very slow to the point they were impossible to putt. I believe they needed to be groomed. Every shot on them - chips and putts - were slowed inordinately.

Nice friendly staff.

This course is way overpriced. I think it is surviving off of it's old legacy from years past. I assume the tourist trade is willing to pay the green fees, probably because they do not know there are much better conditioned SA courses available at lower rates. The novelty of being built down in an old Quarry is wearing off. I did find the staff to be very courteous, helpful and super nice.
