SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Construction zone
I’ve played Silverhorn off and on for the last 10 years, but I’m not sure what is happening at the course now.... the greens were immaculate even if a bit slow, but their was major construction ongoing during the round which was very distracting. My wife loves the course for all of the bonus animal interactions you tend to have from the ducks, deer, squirrels, Turkey and chipmunks, but she was more concerned with the active large construction equipment and workers around the fairways on the front nine. I hope they fix whatever it is they are fixing
The course is in great condition.
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition. New turf on several holes. I see new brush clearing on some of the holes which make it feel more open and play much better. Nice!
Thank you for visiting us at SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas. We truly appreciate your 5-star review and hope you join us for another round soon!
Excellent Course
Challenging course with good fairways and some of the best greens around San Antonio. Several holes have landscaping underway, but all-in-all, an excellent course!
Thank you for visiting us at SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas. We truly appreciate your 4-star review and hope you join us for another round soon!

Hurry up and wait
Nice course. Terribly crowded. We gave up after the 13th and drove past all the back ups at 14, 15,16,17 and 18.

Challenging
When I played the course it was still winter in San Antonio. I say this because there were some improvements being done on the course that I expect will be complete when the season starts. The course itself was beautiful with water on many of the holes. To add to this, the fairways were very narrow which put a premium on putting the ball in the fairway. Another thing that I liked about the course was that there were some lengthy par 5s on the course as well. But the most impressive part of the course for me were the greens. These things were like carpets and ran true. I will definitely be back.
Your feedback is very important to us, stanlcj2. Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience! We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon and thank you for choosing SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas.
Not bad for winter
The course was in pretty good shape for late February but did seem soft and wet considering the lack of rain. Maybe it was from watering the winter rye on the greens. They are apparently installing some sort of ball tracking system on the driving range and you will be able to track your practice via their app. It will be interesting to see how it works.
Thank you for visiting us at SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas. We appreciate your 4-star rating and feedback as it has been shared with our staff. We're glad to hear you're excited about some new features at the course, and we hope you join us for another round soon!

Silverhorn Delightful to Play on Great Greens
Just another Day in Paradise. Course allows you to work the ball going different directions on different holes. Great people. Great grill. No complaints.
Thank you for the 5-star review and great feedback on everything we have to offer! Join us for another round soon, and thanks for choosing SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas.
Construction everywhere and very slow pace with no marshall
This might have been a good course a long time ago but they last two times I’ve played here it has been awful. There was construction going on all over the course. Trenches dug all over the course, piles of dirt and mud in the middle of fairways and all along the cart paths. Several times we had to hit over tractors parked all over the course or walk through mud to pick up our balls and move them to grass since there were trenches everywhere. Not only was the course under construction with below average fairway conditions they don’t provide a club cleaning device on the cart, ie no water, scrubbing tool or towels. There’s also not on board GPS which is pretty standard for golf courses with similar green fees. There’s also not a Marshall that’s helping help with pace of play. We were constantly having to wait for group in front of us who were spending way too much time looking for balls. We even passed them on back nine and caught up to next group at next hole and encountered same problem. Took little over 5 hours to play which is really slow. The staff in clubhouse and bar were nice but not enough to overcome all the problems. I live about 8 min from this course and it’s not at all worth the short drive.
Thank you for taking the time to review the course. However, let us first start by apologizing for your recent experience as this is not the standard we strive for at SilverHorn Golf Club. Due to sewer pipes collapsing under our golf course last December, there have been ongoing repairs taking place at the course. Fortunately, this project was completed a few days ago and our team is in the process of having the course restored in areas that were destructed from the repairs. We have assured that this work does not affect play for our golfers, but we appreciate your patience & understanding during this time. All of your feedback has been escalated to our team, but we would be happy to address these concerns with you further. At your convenience, we encourage you to reach out to Bryan Ledesma, General Manager, at bledesma@silverhorngolfclub.com. We hope you’ll consider giving us another try in the near future.

Overall high quality except when wet
Played an afternoon round with two other GolfPass member medium to low handicappers. Pace of play was good except for when we caught up to a single who was playing several balls and oblivious to the situation behind him.
Clubhouse, practice green, and range are all good quality. This was a "mats only/no driver" day and water was still pooled on the mats from recent rains.
Had to look for dry spots to avoid splashing water when hitting.
Clubhouse staff are very helpful. There is no on course marshal however golfers are called to first tee via PA system. There is a beverage cart service.
The greens are in excellent condition right now. The fairways and rough are the usual central TX dormant grass. The bunkers are normal sand.
This course deserves very high marks for design, location, clubhouse staff, and especially for the condition of the greens. It is generally flat and somewhat protected from the winds. Trees and multiple creek crossings add to the difficulty. There is no in cart GPS and they do not have yardage books available.
On the negative side the drainage may be the worst of any course in the area. Extensive ponded water and mud made for an awkward cartpath-only day. There appears to be quite a bit of remedial work underway. I recommend that you check the course condition before playing and avoid wet days.

Great course but no marshals
The only criticism we had was the lack of a Marshall and having to play a 4 hour 45 minutes round.
