About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Plodding like a horse
Course was in great shape, greens were good but slow play is very frustrating. A ranger with a stop watch would be very helpful. 5 + minutes Delay per hole-at least!
Challenging and Fun
Staff always super friendly here. This course is a challenge due to narrow drive anding zones.
Greens were a bit shaggy, but it's that time of year with the winter grass coming in.
Several domesticated deer can be seen roaming the acreage, many things enjoyable.
Plan on a five hour round and waiting every shot due to the popularity of this facility.

Very challenging course. Not for the faint of heart. Pace of play was slow due to course specials. It was pretty crowded.

Great everyday Golf Course
Normally its a fair priced Golf course. The course and the weather in mid November was excellent, no yellow spots and lot of water where it needs to be. I enjoyed it very much!

Putting greens were horrible. I’ve played there over the past 25+ Yes and never seen the greens so bad. They had new grass coming in and were not mowed.

Great Course
The fairways were great, but the greens were really Slow on a few holes. Grass was pretty long on several holes. Overall, the course played great. Will definitely play there again

Very nice day for golf at Silverhorn Golf Ciurae
Weather was great today at 75 degrees and the course just recently received quite a bit of rain, so it was easy to stick the greens all day long. The greens were not the greatest to putt on because they have recently added sand to them but that is part of the course maintenance so I know once the sand works it’s way in the greens they will be ready for better putting conditions. First time playing this course, but will not be the last time. We really enjoyed the course and the pace of play was great, but we were a twosome so we could pace ourselves in between groups. I liked all the trees along the fairways so shot selection was key on several of the holes.

I Along with several friends have played here a number of times. Price is good and course is always in good shape ( normal maintenance) I have not met an unhelpful staff member not one. Service, gentleman it is the name of the game. And you do it well.
Paid $20 as person probably my last visit
Cart girls and bar staff was friendly but the club house was rude and didn't give rules or let us know they world be calling or names over and intercom to tee up. I'd rather play at winscrest were they are friendly and happy to help. Green was rough and under watered, plenty of divots on just about every hole.

Great value but pace of play for some hacks was unacceptable.
The pace of play needs to be monitored more closely. No need for a Marshall if he doesn’t enforce e the pace of play. If the carts had GPS monitors installed in them, the course and players could monitor their time by sending an alert directly to the slow party. When guys are getting drunk and hit every golf ball out of bounds, that’s a problem. Stop watching the long drive shows on the Golf Network and put the ball in play.

Narrow course
Pros: greens put nice, fairways are great, and hot special was super affordable.
Cons: No GPS on carts, narrow course, bunkers are inconsistent.

Pace of Play An Issue
Course was well maintained, but no marshall on the course to maintain pace of play.
3 Hours for 9 holes. Quit after playing 13 holes total, almost 4 hours in. Total round would have been around 6 hours to complete which is unacceptable.

Golf Now Reservation Holders Treated Like a Burden
Firstly to give credit where its due, the course itself was maintained and in good shape.
Pace of play was horrible. Tee Time started 40 minutes late. Started all golfers off the back 9, over a 3 hour round for 9 holes.
Inquired about rain check for the other 9 due to a competition going on that was supposed to be finished on the front, told they make NO MONEY FROM HOT DEALS so can't offer a rain check.
Can't decide if I don't want to use Golf Now anymore or if it was just an experience with this course.
I don't feel a 6.5 hr round of golf should be considered normal in any situation. We quit after 13 holes, around 4.5 hrs in.
