About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Enjoyable Round of Golf
Fairways, rough, and greens were all in very good shape. Our foursome enjoyed this round of golf.
Great course but no marshals
The only criticism we had was the lack of a Marshall and having to play a 4 hour 45 minutes round.

Great Course - Poor Greens Etiquette
One of my favorite courses in San Antonio. Usually well maintained. Very pretty. Requires shot making. Has some of the best greens in town. Unfortunately those that play there don't know how to fix their ball marks and leave the greens full of unrepaired ball marks. For some reason its worse here than other courses. Although the greens keeper does an excellent job on the greens, it's very frustrating to play on. How about we all get in the habit of fixing our own ball mark and one other ball mark every time we're on a green and we'll all benefit with excellent greens?! Especially here at Silverhorn!

Excellent greens, incredible Sunday afternoon pace of play
Course was in great shape, and greens were fabulous for mid-January. Although only a little slow from recent rain they ran very true. Thanks to Dillon for getting me set up with another two-some......pace of play was awesome.

Silverhorn
The greens were in excellent condition and the layout is excellent. It had rained the day before so it was cart path only.. pace of play was slow (4.5-4.75 hrs) as a result.. very good value ($30 on Tuesdays) as well as 2 for 1 hamburgers..

Great Course!
I used to always avoid playing Silverhorn Golf Club due to the very slow pace of play. But the last few rounds I have played here the pace of play was great and no waiting around on any holes at all. Since their new GM took over things have gotten much better here. In the old days it was put as many golfers on the course as possible and dont care how slow the pace of play might be. Now its the complete opposite of that. I really enjoy playing here much more than I did. The staff here is excellent and very courteous to it golfers. I walked on as a single and was paired up with a very nice couple to play with. Made my golf round so enjoyable. I will return to this course soon to play here again. I love the layout and the price on Tuesday's is a great one. Thank you again for having such a great course!

Excellent Course
This course is one of best in S.A. . Beautiful course well laid out in mid central SA . Well maintained, great range and putting area. Excellent value for cost with good specials. Only small downside is play is a little slow due to course popularity. Overall beautiful challenging course that should be included in courses to play near top of list!
Okay golf course with slow pace of play.
Biggest problem with this course is pace of play. Very narrow fairways so lots of lost balls which slows down play. Course has gone down in quality of its greens, fairways and tee boxes. Also course is putting in major new pipe so front 9 is torn up. Don't pay more than $30 to play this course. Not worth it.

When will construction be done
The course is in good condition for mid November. Greens ran true and fairway conditions were good as well. There is evidence of construction that is in progress (covered excavations, sections of pipe) but no not clear when any of it will be complete. No construction equipment in sight, which suggests is it on hold. Did not impact play to any significant degree.

Best course to play in SA
I've been going to this course last few months. They have maintain their course very good, driving range is always opened (on mat during weekends ONLY). Staff is friendly and can make changes if needed. Looking forward to play here over and over again.

Plodding like a horse
Course was in great shape, greens were good but slow play is very frustrating. A ranger with a stop watch would be very helpful. 5 + minutes Delay per hole-at least!

Challenging and Fun
Staff always super friendly here. This course is a challenge due to narrow drive anding zones.
Greens were a bit shaggy, but it's that time of year with the winter grass coming in.
Several domesticated deer can be seen roaming the acreage, many things enjoyable.
Plan on a five hour round and waiting every shot due to the popularity of this facility.

Very challenging course. Not for the faint of heart. Pace of play was slow due to course specials. It was pretty crowded.

Great everyday Golf Course
Normally its a fair priced Golf course. The course and the weather in mid November was excellent, no yellow spots and lot of water where it needs to be. I enjoyed it very much!
