About
Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

Golfer Reviews
dadson
Noticed disappointing changes such as range balls not included w green fee like they had for quite a few years. Can no longer take your cart to your car to pick up nor leave your clubs. Practice putting area closed, w no sign indicating this. Found this out when starter yelled at me not to enter it.
Grounds keepers need to be reminded not to get in the way of persons playing
I would play it again
Greens were slow but not as slow as play. We had a fivesome in front of us all day. We waited on every shot. When situation was brought to the attenion of pro shop we got little satisfaction. This is after we got two separate videos on their gps system explaining to us how slow play elimination was their goal. Did not see a ranger on the course all day.
Canyon Springs
Great day in San Antonio; Courses was in good condtion but greens a little slow. Overall pace of play much improved starting on back nine start, Look forward to playing again at Canyon Springs.
Always in great condition
This course is well maintained and always in good condition. The pace is usually good, but I have had a few bad experiences recently with the pace of play.
Outstanding Course
This course is awesome and beautiful. I am not a very good golfer but the course and the people working there made it awesome and not even worry about my sub-par golf game. Canyon Springs is number 1 in my book as far as the courses I have played in San Antonio. I will definitely be making a return trip very soon with my group!!!
Ball striker
Overall course was in good shape. Price has fallen to a much more reasonable price,
Extremely overrated!!
If you would like to play a golf course that is poorly designed, horribly managed, and comes with no privacy, this is the course for you. Stuck smack-dab in the middle of every neighborhood possible, this course offers pressure from the group in front and back, with some holes teeing off literally right next to a busy road. The group in front of us looked for their ball on EVERY HOLE!! Tee it forward gentlemen!!! The course had no marshall, which, needless-to-say, made us finish a complete hour behind schedule, and did nothing to the group in front of us.
The practice putting green didn't even have holes cut into it!! We just putted to flag sticks balancing on the surface. We were hitting off of mats on the driving range!!! Overall I was very dissatisfied and will not be coming back here!
There are at least 4 other courses within 30 miles of this one that I would recommend that are the same price!!!
Extremely slow play
Course removed the middle set of tee boxes. Players directly in front of us, were teeing off at close to 6500 yards and could never clear the hazards in front of tee box or were wild off tee. We waited on every hole and almost every shot. Two groups behind us, waited all day too. Very immature players, refused to let us play through and never seemed to care about the slow play and constant looking for balls, they must have used 4 dozens balls. No marshall at all. Very disappointing day of golf.
One of San Antonio's most enjoyable
Canyon Springs might be known for the waterfall behind the 18th green, but before you get there, you get to experience a really well thought-out and enjoyable Texas Hill Country golf course. This nice, rolling piece of property has plenty of interesting holes, is in good shape and won't break the bank. The signature 18th is actually one of the easier holes on the course, but still a terrific finishing hole, getting to putt with the waterfall in the background.
Beautiful course
Winter in San Antonio is a wonderful time to play. Temp was 72 and very light breese. Greens were fast and true. Fairways in great shape for mid winter.
Awesome
When I come to San Antonio this will be my choice of course to play!
Cold day of golf!
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone! Everything is in great condition, fairways are great, greens are consistent and in pretty good condition, rough isn't too bad...gotta make sure you concentrate on your speed on putts because any lack of focus can cause balls to roll off a lot of the greens here...
SLOW
A mixed review at best. Fun layout. I played when the grass was dormant and the greens had been dyed so putting was a roll of the dice. Biggest negative was scheduling tee times every 8 minutes. Teed off 15 minute behind scheduled time due to the course being packed. Four holes in 1:09. Nine holes in 2:33. Since I can walk at my club with a foursome and play 18 in 3:30-3:50 this was a real frustration. I quit after 9. I played on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe mid-week it wouldn't be a problem.
Good course
Course was in good shape for the time of year. I will be playing again
Sexy, Evil Course
This difficulty of this will depend on how good you are at hitting narrow fairways and blind shots.
A Must Play
Awesome course if you want excellent conditions and a real challenge. Beautiful layout, elevation changes, and you will use every club in your bag. Greens are very quick so you want to stay below the hole! Very unique holes and narrow enough that even the shorter holes are a challenge. LOVE THIS COURSE! The only downside I can think of is you cannot hit driver off the first tee.
