Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

The course has alot of great features to test your game..

I went out and played after heavy had gone through that night. The Greens were rollling great, fairways were wet but there were plenty of spots where you could get relief from causal water. Pace of play was slow becuase of the fairway only rule. The GPS in the carts really helped navagate the course. Can't wait to play it again on a dry day.

Nice design

Need to keep your ball in the fairway or you can lose a lot of balls in the high grass along some fairways--my playing companions did!!. Greens were smooth and nice speed for putting. Intended to play the Quarry our 2nd day but it was closed because of overnight rain. Went back to Canyon Springs and it was open--played there in the rain.

Better than La Cantera...especially for the $$$

Skip La Cantera....overpriced in all areas. Canyon Springs just as good if not better and a diet coke in a can will cost you $3.50...and don't forget to tip....C'mon Man. CANYON SPRINGS.....Great course...really well maintained. Had played once previously but had forgotten how nice it was. Special thanks to Rebel and Sunray...very nice addition. Pace of play was good however marshalls need to be around on the turn and not just starting...on 10 a single pulled up just before we did and jumped in front of us?? He was not with the original group in front of us from the start?? Overall...really nice. I'll definitely return....

Good course for the money

Great course for twilight prices. Played on a Sunday, so pace of play was extremely slow. Fairways were excellent but bunkers needed some raking post rain. Greens were fast. Watch out for the deer!

Great Experience

In San Anton for business often. I live in Charleston SC so I wasn't sure what to expect. This is a very nice course. It was in great condition. Lots of variety. Would love to play again if I have a chance. Golf Now rate is a great value.

Really nice course

Not long, but some really challenging holes with some undulating fairways, one split fairway (right is longer, left has more hazards) and some tricky greens to contend with. Despite severe drought conditions here in S.A., course we VERY well maintained. Definitely looking to go back very soon!

Worth the drive from Downtown San Antonio

With virtually nothing to go off of other than Golf Now reviews, we selected this course on a recent getaway to San Antonio. For $49.95, compared to the cost of several other courses, we were pleasantly surprised.

The course is in phenomenal shape. It's has a gorgeous layout and surroundings. The waterfall on 18 was especially nice. GPS on the carts worked well. You can even have your golf cart email you a copy of your score card, which we did.

All in all, Canyon Springs was impressive. I would definitely play here gain if back in the area.

Great atmosphere, views, holes, layout...you name it

I played here in August, so obviously hot, but worth it to get such a great deal on this course. The layout is awesome, I just wish there weren't so many houses lining many of the holes. For being the middle of the summer, great conditions. Best I've seen in the last month or so here in Texas. Greens did have some topdressing on them, but were still lightning quick. The views of the canyons and hillsides are amazing. Some holes you feel like you can see forever, too. And of course, you really feel like you're in Texas the whole time you're here. From the sign that greets you on the road, to the clubhouse and old style fountain out front, to the 2 longhorns on your way to the first tee, it's Texas golf at its best. This course is not to be missed.

Fun and moderately difficult course. All holes are unique.

I played here 3 times. The course is in a nice shape for this time of the year. The greens roll truly (very firm) and at a fast speed. FYI, all greens are not at the same color. So be aware when you are putting because the speeds will vary. Don't put too much spin on the down sloped greens with wedge shots if you are a fast swinger.

I played on the tips, therefore the driver and 3 wood come out to play more actively. Hybrids and long irons (like 2, 3, 4 iron) come into play off the tee box.

Fairway is in a good shape and very fluffy therefore you won't get much carry off the driver/wood and long irons.

Rough is in a good shape, enough height to take the spin off the ball on the fast green.

I recommend it for guys playing off the tip because all of the clubs are played throughout the game. If you can hit your hybrid, 3/5 wood and long iron off the tee box very accurately you will be rewarded.

I call this a mini TPC

If you want to use every club in the bag, this is the place to play. The fronts are too close and the backs are to far, so play the middle. Beautiful course great deals on GN. Great drink specials for after your round. It was punched and sanded. I understand they have to do it to maintain greens but other than that wonderful place, probably my fav in SA. If I have a day off I look to find the hot deal here first. Great practice range thats included. They The only negative is the carts have GPS, they track the carts ahead, but they are gas, loud and clunky. They need to get new ones instead update those. I wont hold that against them. I will be back.

Great hill country golf experience at Canyon Springs

This course has a great layout with a natural feel of the SA hill country. Fairways and tee boxes were all in very good shape and well maintained. The greens were a little rough from recent aeration and sanding, but still played fair. Overall great course that is more open than it appears with the trees and rough along and around the fairways and greens giving it a visually tight feel, but there is plenty of room to play. The rolling hills with the changes in elevation, doglegs and a few blind shots make it a pleasant challenge.
I definitely recommend playing Canyon Springs to anyone looking for a solid hill country golf experience.

a great challenge

The course was, as usual, in very good condition .
There seemed to be too many single players that were looking to move ahead of groups of 3 and 4 .
