Great course!
Great course to play! Wouldn’t recommend to inexperienced golfers! Not very forgiving! But the experience is great if you don’t care.
Greenwood
Greens poor and all bunkers played as GUR no sand in them
Very disappointed
Getting golf in before winter
2nd time playing this course understood layout bit more this time few tricky holes 2nd and 14th I think your good course even after rain this week . Definitely going back
Gone downhill
Gone severely downhill, greens not good for there “premier course” unfriendly/un knowledgable staff, they weren’t sure if there was any temporary greens or not. 2 lads/greenkeepers messing around spraying each other with water down at the first green, so could hear them screaming at each other for the first couple of holes which was very off putting, not we’ll sign posted at all and you can easily get lost. Very rude lad in bar after, 3 ciders with ice please “WE DONT HAVE ICE” 🤷♂️ while he’s sat there on his phone, we said ok we’ll leave it because you obviously don’t want to take our money, he said “I can go and get some if you want” but why has it taken someone to order a drink until you get some? The next 2 lads had the exact same experience so this staff member is losing them a lot of money!
Greenwood delight
My son and I really enjoy playing the Greenwood course. Not too long but you have to plan your way very carefully, the set up of the course makes for an enjoyable round. In addition there is enough elevation change and water to keep your attention.
The overall condition of the course is a credit to the greenkeeping staff. Pro Shop staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed a coffee and slice of sausage roll after. A really nice day out.

Nice variety of holes
Some really nice and some challenging holes. Be prepared to walk up and down the hills but so long as that doesn't bother you it's a nice mix of holes in a good setting.
Course I Splendid Condition
I see the course has had a few recent adverse reviews as it is well known for not being able to cope with sustained rainfall. All I can say is that it was in generally splendid condition for my round, although I did notice a few flooded bunkers. Fortunately I did not visit any of them
East Horton greewood
This is a very nice course but not well maintained.
I would not play it after a period of wet weather.
Really decent paced round.
I played a 9.52 tee time as a one ball on the GREENWOOD off the whites on 20/05/2024. There is still some really wet patches on the first few holes close to where the river runs alongside, once away from that part of the course everywhere else had dried out nicely.
The ground staff have done a great job of the greens which were rolling really nicely.
Pace of play (as per title) was great, there was a 2-ball in front of me and I did not have to wait over my shots and I generally play quite quickly.
Bunkers are generally full of stones, but apart from that it’s starting to look in good shape after a really poor spring
Good all round condition
Really good condition considering the rain we’ve had
Below par. No pun intended
Course does not play well following bad weather, at all. Charging full price but not having the full course available is poor. Many holes were shut forcing to play the ‘remaining holes’ on their alternative course. The majority of the course is caked in mud, making it extremely difficult to find balls due to plugging. I would only ever considering playing this course in the summer. The rate should be hugely reduced in the current conditions. There are certainly other options available that play much better for the price you are paying here at peak times.
Not one for the winter
In my opinion not one for the winter, was told it was pretty firm, but in truth it was boggy on the majority of holes. Greens were lovely though. Course felt a little repetitive without leaves on the trees. Would imagine it’s a complete different experience in the spring/summer
Pace of play was slowest I have encountered and course was too busy
This was the most frustrating round of golf I have ever played. We played in a 2 ball and are reasonably decent golfers, however this round took us 4.5 hours to get round due to the number of player on the golf course and not one group allowing anyone to play through.
Every time we got to our ball there was a 2/3 minute wait, not just our tee shots but every one.
It’s a nice course, challenging in places with some decent greens, the first 2 holes were extremely boggy but it had been raining.
At the end of the round we wanted to go for a bite to eat and drink after being out for 4.5 hours only to find a que out the door for the food and drink area by the 18th hole. So we just left.
Shame as I have played there a couple of time and it hasn’t been like that.
Excellent conditions.
The weather was perfect, cloudy to begin with then sunny from about hole 4. My game started well with three pars to begin with. My tee shots were fairly good most of the time, but sometimes my shots into the green were less than perfect.
Some of the greens had just been spiked, so made it difficult to judge putts on those occasions. Other than that, the course was in great condition.
I dropped one of my club head covers and didn't realize until I had climbed the steepest hill on the course. so did not go back to try and find it. Fortunately, the pair of players behind me picked it up and made the effort to catch up in their buggy and return it to me. What gents they are!
Prior to that the Pro was teaching a couple of ladies when I caught up with them on hole two, they waved me through, no problem. As you can see from the behavior of the golfers on this course, they are extremely helpful and courteous.
I would recommend playing there and the sister Parkland course due to the friendly nature of the staff and great attitude of the players, as well as the condition of the course as the moment..
