Great layout on the course.

The course could do with giving more time between tee offs/ bookings.

Challeging nine hole course

Charming challeging nine hole course with 3 x Par 3 2 x Par 5 and 4 x Par 4. Tees, greens and fairways are excellent value for the green fee. My only critism is litter. Not Meon's fault, pesky litter bugs, but I think there is only one litter bin on the 1st tee.

Lovely Course

Very well designed and testing 9 holes, always well looked after. Only criticism is the tees were a bit worse for wear and not level

Good

Course layout and more signs as to where the next holes are could be better. Other than that, well kept course.

Avoid like the plague.

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

MV come under the ‘Elite Venues Selection’ which is a trading name of Britannia Hotels… consistently rated as one of the worst U.K. hotel chains. This alone should be enough to put you off.

Having played golf many times on their 9 hole course which represented ok value for a quick round on a 1/2 decent course, I booked a round on their website for £12 to be paid on arrival.

On arrival after a 25mins drive, they told me the online price was wrong and I needed to pay more (against Trades Description Act). I declined the round and instead used their driving range. I emailed their Customer Service team who quickly realised they’d made an error & the frustration caused and saved the situation by offering me a free 4-ball for the 9 hole course.

I gratefully accepted.

Then… within 24 hours, they rescinded the offer after, ‘advice from management’. I was surprised at this and asked them to elaborate. Now, more than 2 weeks later, they’ve not responded.

With this level of service for 9 holes of golf, I can only imagine the rubbish served up to hotel guests. I won’t return again when there are many better local golf options at a similar price to what they wanted to charge me.

decent 9 hole

Decent 9 hole course with a par 5 within it. Condition of course was average, tee boxes not in good order (why is is so difficult to get a tee box level?), but an enjoyable round when you don't have time for a full 18 holes.

Poor timings

Due to timings not being adhered to and no policing the course, there were far too many people there not on the times booked. We arrived at 10:10 for our 10:12 tee time to find a queue of people waiting to tee off. This resulted in 6 groups of 2 waiting for 10-15 minutes per tee box waiting to play. A round of 9 holes then took 3 and a half hours. Temptation to no longer play this course as it always seems to be like this but never this bad!

Not bad for a small 9 hole course, but overpriced for the condition

this is a short 9 hole course tucked away in the corner of the complex. very narrow holes and if you spray the ball it will be gone (im 3hcp and lost a few with fairly straight tee shots). good for a hack around but i dont see people paying 15-17 GBP to play 9 holes here? we basically had to play gimme circles on the greens as they arent in the best shape. i understand they have a proper 18 hole course, which is great, but this 9 hole either needs work, or needs to be cheaper.

Awful greens

Read the reviews and said it’s a great 9 hole course. First impression was good, until we got into the green at the first hole and it was I. Bad state, lumps in the green so u couldn’t line up your put properly. Then moved onto the second and it was even worse absolutely awful Green pointless trying to putt. It put a damper on the round to be honest and was def not £21 for a round of 9 holes. Spoke to someone after we finished and said how disappointed we were and are the greens always in that state, his response was no those greens are usually better then the 18 hole course and are usually at a PGA standard. I suggested he go look at them as they are in a very bad state. For the price, state of greens and also rubbish just sitting around won’t be goi by n back there

Valley Course - worth a go…

For a 9 hole at a resort type hotel and at this price point you have to have pretty realistic expectations…. Staff are friendly once you find tbe pro shop is has the basics you need. Driving range is ‘OK’, could do with a tidy up. Played the 9 hole Valley course as pushed for time. Has some really nice holes, 1st, 7th and 9th in particular, lots of slope change too. Greens are in generally good condition with a couple of exceptions. Tee boxes are uneven, and often bare… fairways are firm and bouncy and in reasonable shape. One or two bunkers could do with a tidy up. On the whole that’s the feeing about the course - could do with a tidy up… especially the second where the canopy is so overgrown it’s almost impossible to hit a tee shot without finding the trees!! It’s a decent test at this price, unfortunately just very busy and slow at points. Worth playing if you’re in the area and want to get 9 holes in somewhere without breaking the bank.
