Reviews
Saturday with the boys
Enjoyed the course and time with my veteran brothers…
Ed's GHGC Review
Due to recent rains and saturated grounds, the back 9 was closed again to allow it to recover. Despite the fact that playing the front 9 twice detracts from a better rating, it is required until the ground dries. Kudos to the staff.
The course needs some serious upkeep. Weeds near the greens, the sand traps are dirt and rock. ..no sand. The weed issue off the fairways are knee high and if your ball rolls into this unkept area, you just accept that you lose your ball. If the rough was properly cut & maintained, then you can easily play on. This course is a huge disappointment considering the USAF should have its courses comparable to civilian courses.
Pace of play
Was fine on front 9. Back 9 a 4some, had no one in front of them the whole back nine. We were a threesome and had to wait almost every hole. They never offered to let us play through!
Hanging out with my Grandson
It was an awesome day today the course was good condition and the staff let me ride with my grandson he enjoyed every minute on the course especially when he saw the C-5B flying…
A 210610 Review
The recent rains made it quite a challenge for the grounds crew to make the course playable. They did the best they could considering the maintenance and any improvements come from non-appropriated funds generated through Joint Base San Antonio installations' morale, welfare, recreation funds received from users.
Always Improving
The course has come a long way over a few months. Realize recent heavy rains have caused some damage, but being corrected.
Scenic fairways make the day more enjoyable.
Look forward to another round.
Customer service
The person at the counter was rude. I don’t know if he is like that with brown people..He should be aware that we pay and play..We play and pay for him to receive a pay.
Fun track in great condition!
Had not played the course in a very long time and I quite impressed with course condition and the check in process. Staff was friendly and helpful. Relaxing on the outSide patio after the round was a great experience. The views were fantastic! Definitely back into my rotation of courses to play.
Much Improved
The course has improved over the past two months. The greens are a bit slow. The big rain storm two weeks ago moved downed trees around.
It’s a good course getting better with time. Will return.
Course is not up to par.
Still not doing regular course maintenance. Greens are in good condition. Fairways are decent. But... lots of trees should be trimmed. Hopefully after they trim a tree they will dispose of it. Not just push it off into the brush! Hole 10 - last year they worked on the creek area....obviously they didn’t know what they were doing. One good rain destroyed every thing they did!
Good Condition
The course is good and laid out nicely. The greens need help as some are in different condition than others. They range from good to poor.
I realize they are working on the course as very thick vegetation and trees which once covered the views were being cleared and improved. Good to see. The value is excellent.
We plan to return and hope to see improvements.
Slow play
You really can’t beat the price for this course, but you have to be willing to play behind some very slow inexperienced players. Seems a lot of the young service members from the base come out to blow off some steam.
Could be so much better
If only they would do the normal maintenance that every golf course needs. So many trees need trimming and brush removed! Too many water leaks!
