Hills. Many hills.
My first time here, and I think it would be better if played a second time. There are several holes that are played almost blind, and the slopes seem to gather everything into small gullies of longer grass; maybe long hitters would carry them, but I’m not a long (or even medium) hitter.
The staff and members are very friendly and welcoming, and it certainly wasn’t busy on the course.
You do need a trolley though, preferably powered. Those hills really take their toll.
Great hidden gem of a course
Really enjoyed Farthingstone, playing in a 4 ball where we never waited anywhere.
The greens were a tad slower than look but overall quite challenging.
The fairways were in good order, my only criticism is the tee boxes would benefit from a little tlc.
Other than that a great course which we will be playing again very soon.
Farthingstone
Great course with some challenging holes played on the bank holiday and it was great value and very quiet the fairways were slightly long probably due to the wet weather. Only issue is there was no driving range to warm up in before starting the round.
Nice course Nice staff
Booked a hot deal at a great price and was not disappointed. The course was in great shape considering the amount of rain earlier in the month. Members extremely friendly and happy to give advice and the staff were great too.

Nice club house friendly staff pro was very informative course was in good condition greens need bit of attention but we're playable and quite fast would definitely return again
Great value
Only paid £6 each for a round at 12 o'clock great value, nice course and good weather on the day made it a good four ball. Apart from slow play by one four ball three groups in front of us slowed ot up for everybody. However will go back again just for the nice atmosphere .
Doesn't winter well
Very muddy conditions in part, coupled with very diseased greens made this a disappointing visit.
Farthingstone offer great deals for visitors/hotel stays but a few hackers on the course, slow play and shouting from hole to hole shows the challenge they have of keeping reasonable standards
