Forest Hill Golf Club

I have played here before but clearly there are issues behind the scenes as they have lost the greens and have no attention or resources to put into maintaining the most basic level of care around the course. Difficult very wet prolonged winter aside, weeding bunkers, basic maintenance of sand levels and simply leaving GUR’ markings with no attempt to do the R”epair element is obvious. Greens were the worst I have seen and would put Brad Faxon off his putting stroke. Not sure what the future of the course is but definitely one to avoid unless you are not serious about playing and just going out with the lads for S&Gs and a few beers. Front of house staff and Pro Shop being let down by owners.

Overall good, greens looked battered compared to previous playing there but overall nice course and decent price

There is more grass than sand in some of the bunkers with a couple just spray canned GUR .

Decided to play golf rather than suffer the struggles of ENG v SLO and I thoroughly enjoyed my 9 holes around Forest Hills. I've played here before and think there is some decent holes on the front 9, with varieties that test my game. The course was in ok condition, the greens weren't great but I think a large part of that comes from unrepaired pitch marks leaving an ugly scar. I imagine it's difficult to keep on top of the conditioning when the patrons can't be bothered?

This was a twilight round, it was very cheap and I was more or less on my own for the 9 holes.

I do plan on playing here again as I only ever play 9 holes, it's very good value and the layout provides me with a good challenge. The greens could be better but they're not unplayable and didn't ruin my experience.

Nice enough course (used to be a member here) and got a great GN deal to play a twilight round with friends. However it’s absolutely ridiculous to walk off the 18th green just about 9pm and find the clubhouse already closed and locked up. The range was still open but after 18 holes I want a seat and a decent drink, not to stand around on the range with a bottle. Don’t expect anything in the way of hospitality and you won’t be disappointed I guess…

Some bunkers need more sand and certain parts of the course hold the water.

Greens in good condition. Overall condition of the course was good.

Excellent value for money as a non member green fee.

Poor course. Hardly any maintenance carried out. Greens in poor condition, fairways were not cut short enough. Overall, poor. We spoke with members who pay £1300 annually are dismayed and will be leaving at renewal time.

The greens where really bad , not well looked after , the bunkers where hard and full of weeds growing, the course has a beautiful setting and looks amazing on approaching

If only they invested as much money on the actual course as the driving range and bar. The course has so much potential with some nice looking holes but unfortunately it’s so unloved it’s not enjoyable to play at all. The greens were basically just sand which was ironic as the bunkers had none

We last played this course about 4 years ago and it looks worse now than when we left grass in bunkers greens were dead fairways were long just overall looked a mess and unloved we paid £28 and honestly it wasn’t worth £10 it looked really tired like nobody cared what a Shame it does have some lovely holes

Booked on breakfast and 18 holes for £35. Breakfast was good but didn't compensate for how bad a condition the course was. Fairways are long, almost like playing out of light rough. As for the rough, if you are unlucky enough even to find the fringes you may aswell say goodbye to your ball. Greens were unplayable due to large amount of sand, I assume from treatment. This is the opposite to the bunkers which had hard compacted sand or very little sand. Its a real shame as this place has so much potential.

Was a nice course and good value for money. Greens I assume have been recently aerated. And very wet still.

Sanded and punched greens uncut fairways and tee boxes all for £28. Awful condition and overpriced

Hi GolfNow. Rang course Sunday morning to check status after heavy rain overnight was advised that course was closed for the day and we couldn't play. Please can I have voucher or credits to re-book the 3ball at same course in coming months. Many Thanks, Jeremy

Wasn’t expecting course to be 100% after heavy weekend rain but really disappointed with the playing conditions. All fairways very wet most greens had been hollow tiened. Allowing for the conditions we played ok but to take 5 hrs for a round on a Monday is unacceptable mainly due to the older members who weren’t going to let our 3 ball play through. A nicely layed out course but we won’t be rushing back any time soon.

Stuck behind 4 of the most ignorant slow players ever,nothing about the day was good ,front 9 took 2hrs 15 mins had to miss out 3 holes on the back 9. We were a 2 ball and were waiting on the tee for an eternity on each hole. Complained about the pace of the 4 ball in the club shop and asked if they were members or guests ,was told they didn't know ( obviously entitled members then )have played the course many times before but will think twice before booking again .

Unplayable front 9 should not have been open and awful value for money. Grass was 4 inches long on the fairway
