Well looked after course

Third time playing here in the last 18 months, course was in great condition (July). Greens were very true. Course isn’t the longest but has some challenging holes. Staff were friendly, but a stuffy course. Will be booking again soon.

Great challenging layout but has some negatives

Friendly staff let us tee off earlier which was great but unfortunately due to all amenities closing before we was going to finish, we was unable to make use of a cart. Course condition was OK but I think because of the recent hot weather the fairways were more like first cut and the greens were quite slow as they have been left to grow out slightly. I don't know how but there seemed to be range balls all over the course and the 10th was peppered with hundreds of them, I played a shot off the tee which landed in the slight rough where it would normally be very easy to find the but because of the vast amount of range balls eventually gave up and played a drop. I would recommend as I think the later tee time we played effected our experience.

Disappointed

Course not in the best of condition. Greens very sandy. Many fairways spoilt by sand covering what I assume are new drainage channels. Some of the tees also in poor condition.

10th hole was closed due to the damage to the netting along the driving range, so to compensate the 11th was split into 2 holes with a temporary green. Bizarrely the sign informing you of this is not until after you have teed off on the 11th, thinking it was a long par 5, when in fact it was a short par 4.

Greeted by a very grumpy member on the tee at the start of the round who was moaning that we were teeing off late, as he was playing in a competition behind us. We explained to him we had to wait for the group in front to tee off and clear the fairway, but he was not happy and kept up his moaning. By the time we made the second green, he hadn’t even made it to the first green. So much for him being in a hurry!

Clubhouse bar was closed by 7pm, even though there were still plenty of players on the course.

All in all a disappointing visit.

Worth a visit

We played here after getting back from a month in Spain & the cold weather was a bit of a shock. The ground conditions were wet but the course was still playable. The pro was extremely helpful & friendly & the members we encountered on the course were also very friendly.

Unrecognisable

The golf course was very wet and on more than one occasion I found myself in standing water.

The clubhouse is no longer a clubhouse in the traditional sense. It lacks the vibe that a clubhouse should have. Everywhere is geared towards functions, wedding receptions, wakes etc. The furniture is tacky, the lights are grotesque…..chandeliers in a clubhouse?
