Forest Hill Golf Club

I have played this course in the past but it has fallen into a disgraceful state of disrepair. Do yourself a favour and avoid it.

Paid for 18 but ended up waking off after 9. Could and should have been sent off the back 9 as there was a match being played.

I am very well aware that we have had a lot of rain in recent months, but the fact that we were struggling to find our balls in the middle of the fairways says everything. Screams of a lack machinery or staff. Greens/Tees weren’t too bad in all fairness, which begs the questions, why were the fairways soo bad.

Finally reached the 10th tee, to realise it had taken us 2 hours 20 mins. We agreed to cut across to the 17th to play the last 2 holes and call it a day only to find that the 17th was closed for some reason lol. Single holes being closed in the middle of April is criminal. So we just walked all the way back in and cut our losses.

Arrived at course to be told front 9 was closed. No mention of 17th also being closed. No advice from staff as to how to proceed as 18 holes prebooked and paid for. Course exceptionally wet, bar area closed but no mention of this in advance or when arriving at course. There were plenty of available tee slots and now I understand why. Wouldn't bother playing here again.

Checked website and weather 6 set out to play drove 30 miles to be told course closed and has been for 9 days ?

Staff really friendly, baconSarnies excellent but to not have notification on the web page is a joke.

This is a fab track. Varied holes and a good test. Play it

A had a fab time playing this course some lovely holes presented in very decent conditions. If you haven’t played it, don’t hesitate

Nice course with lots of varied and interesting holes. The front 9 was a good pace but back 9 got very slow, we were playing in a 2 ball so I’d suggest playing this in no less than 3 balls. It’s a shame as really enjoyed the course but I would certainly go back.

I got paired with a member (Lee) who was friendly and easy going, the staff in the pro shop where very welcoming, both of which made it a great afternoon , would definitely recommend and look forward to going back

A little disappointed that 2 holes, 15th & 17th are temporary. The pro shop only told us about hole 17, need other players to tell us how to play the 15th (from a par 4 to a very short par 3)

Third time playing here in the last 18 months, course was in great condition (July). Greens were very true. Course isn’t the longest but has some challenging holes. Staff were friendly, but a stuffy course. Will be booking again soon.

Friendly staff let us tee off earlier which was great but unfortunately due to all amenities closing before we was going to finish, we was unable to make use of a cart. Course condition was OK but I think because of the recent hot weather the fairways were more like first cut and the greens were quite slow as they have been left to grow out slightly. I don't know how but there seemed to be range balls all over the course and the 10th was peppered with hundreds of them, I played a shot off the tee which landed in the slight rough where it would normally be very easy to find the but because of the vast amount of range balls eventually gave up and played a drop. I would recommend as I think the later tee time we played effected our experience.

Really enjoyed playing here. Course is lovely and kept in great condition. The greens were in excellent condition - massive well done to the greenkeepers!
