Forest of Galtres Golf Club

We booked online a couple of days ahead via HotDeals.

The Online service is easy to manage.

We got there shortly before time and were checked in in a friendly and helpful manner.

The course played well bearing in mind the recent Co-vid related problems. They do have a problem with birds & rabbits digging up the turf but this did not spoil our game only the general appearance.

We didn't use the Bar facilities but others did and seemed quite happy.

We would recommend Forest of Galtres.

This was the second time I’ve played there and the course wasn’t really good, the greens had been cored and some of the area’s around the green where in poor condition, the fairways were in fantastic condition which made up for the greens, still enjoyed our round of golf

This course is in excellent condition and is a pleasure to play. It’s well looked after and is definitely great value for money. We’ll definitely be back

Car park was full but there was no delay in play. Course was in fine fettle and greens good but not great. Enjoyable. Played here often and will play here many more times.

Enjoyed round greens had been spiked and sanded which made putting more difficult. Parts of course were churned up not sure what was occurring

The course is in generally good condition but the greens are a bit sandy at the moment, but I am sure they will improve as we get towards summer. Nice wide fairways for the erratic driver! The fairways are good and very friendly staff!

Played this course many times and it’s always a pleasure. Flat and dry after days of heavy rain and greens were quite fast. Great course for those who love hitting their driver. Surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire Wolds countryside and always peaceful and quiet. Good practice area and very friendly staff. Buggies and pull carts available. Great to play a course where once you tee off you very rarely come within 100 metres of other players and the pace of play as always was fantastic.

Had a lot of rain the day before, was expecting the course to be wet but in places it was muddy.

Some parts of fairway excellent however seem to be having problems with parts where the birds are ripping it up, especially round bunkers..

Heavy rain in the days leading up to playing left the fairways a little boggy as you’d expect. Greens held up well though.

Some strategically placed bunkers and tree lines to cause you a few difficulties on a relatively flat course.

Played a little longer than I expected but all in all was a great course for the price and an enjoyable afternoon.

Staff were friendly in the shop, other golfers on the course were too.

We will definitely go back again.

I hadn`t played Forest of Galtres for 10 years but it`s a great established course now and challenging enough for my handicap!!!

The weather had been cold but the sun came out and the waterproofs came off. The greens were good but some areas around them were holding water. Hopefully, this is just temporary. There were a number of people playing the course but this didn't effect the pace of play. Preparation for winter greens is well in hand. There is some damage caused by birds, etc. which will need management to keep the course in good condition.

Still a joy to play here - be back soon!

A nice course, in good condition, considering the weather conditions.

The only negative is that badgers have caused significant damage around several bunkers on the course
