Great Lever & Farnworth Golf Club

I can't recommend this course high enough. Set in beautiful country surroundings, Great Lever and Farnworth is amazing value for money, only £22 for midweek visitors and around £30 for the weekenders. A par 69, mostly flat so easy enough to walk round a full 18, but some lovely challenging holes. The clubhouse and bar is very welcoming and overlooks the picturesque par 3 18th. The course is located less than 5 mins from junction 4 of the M61 motorway.

Really great course that makes you think almost all the way round! The course was really well maintained and the greens were all in great condition.

We unfortunately booked our round just before a club championship which meant we were a little rushed, and unfortunately sandwiched between the club tournament and some slow play in front of us. But that certainly won’t be deterring us from playing this one again!

For someone working on their game this gets the right balance of difficulty and forgiveness. It’s good value and well kept and great views of the Pennines beyond

At £20 a round I was expecting a few issues but how wrong was I! The fairways in great condition, the medium rough was playable, the deep rough, well let's just say when you are in there is hard to get out of. The greens were immaculate and played fast. All in all worth every penny.

Course was in very nice condition, greens were in good nick although looks like a couple were recovering well after such a dry spring, fairways are very good.

Staff and members very friendly.

Need to keep an eye on some visitors, saw two playing with one set of clubs.

We booked last minute and the staff were very friendly. The course was in really good nic considering the dry weather we've had recently. Plenty of people on for a late tee time, but the pace was very good.

We will be coming back.

For my first ever time being on a course, was absolutely amazing really enjoyed myself and loved every hole, so much so I booked again for the weekend. I would highly recommend this course to friends and family

Very nice, well looked after course. The weather was great. The only issue was no rubbish bins or ball cleaner on the tees. But that does not take anything away from this fantastic course.

Had a great first time experience at this golf course. Right from the start and speaking with Ian in the pro shop, all around the course with others golfers, to the lady in the bar. Great value for £23.80 (that inc a well needed shandy).

The course was in great condition the green keepers were busy but respectful. Some lovely scenery especially when teeing off on hole 12. Would have no hesitation in recommending this course and set up and with the weather in the upper 20’s it was hot but.. Great.

First time booking this course, easy to find , easy to follow the course which is well presented. Would recommend it and will definitely be playing there again

I played this for the first time today and had an absolute blast! The course was stunning and had some tricky holes! Made you think about every shot.

The greens looked like they had a disease that had been treated. This didn’t affect the play at all and they ran very quick which added a nice extra challenge.

The staff and the club members couldn’t have made me feel more welcome! I would definitely recommend this to new golfers and experienced players.

We had a ladies 3 ball infront of us we was very patient and respectfully however at some point they should have allowed us to pass as we was waiting at the tee foe 10 min yo allow them to be at a safe distance
