Championship course

Every hole was in excellent condition could fault it, only problem we found was a 4 ball in front of us were very slow and didn’t invite us to play through other than that everything was great

Well maintained course

The greens are always in great condition. Bunkers too. No concern of finding a huge rock in there and damage your club. Interesting course layout and very picturesque. Only thing I’d say is that hole 13 isn’t very well signposted. But it’s right next to hole 10.

Over priced council course at best

Played the front 10 and walked off. Pace of play was shocking had to wait 10 mins at every tee. Greens were slow and I've seen better on council courses. The fairways around the greens we terrible every hole had GUR areas. Considering the warm dry weather the last few months course in terrible condition dread to see how bad it plays through the winter. Would t play again .

Great course!

Lovely course but they need to install more signs from green to tee. It’s a bit confusing for someone who has never played the course before.

Greens and fairways were in perfect condition.

Course very damp but greens mega

Played here many times early 2000’s so was excited to go back.

Course layout remains fantastic but I used to always recall it being sort / damp and that was still the case on Sunday.

Can only assume it’s built on clay. We had our winter mats to ensure we were not taking huge divots.

Greens however were amazing for the time of year.

Everyone mega friendly. 4 hours 20 for a fourball. 19th perfect too.

Will be back in summer.

Accommodating

I had booked 7:30pm by accident and turned up for 7:30am tee time. Staff were very accommodating and managed to squeeze me in close to the tee time I thought I had booked.

Course in great condition and greens rolling true

Somewhat damp!

The course is completely sodden. They’ve had a reported additional six feet of rain above normal in the past 18 months. Absolutely nothing the great staff can do about that but it made a quite straightforward course much more difficult. I lost at least two balls that just disappeared into the fairway and had multiple others plug. Aside from the tee boxes and greens everything was mushy underfoot. The greens were in great shape considering. Staff were excellent as always. Hopefully the rain will stop and the course can dry out. Looks out of the window onto No. 1 tee box as the rain starts again…

Fantastic winter golf

Fantastic winter golf. The course was in excellent condition for the time of year and given the amount of rain we’ve had. Couldn’t fault it.

Wet weather
Walked

Worsley Park

The course should not have been open. Particularly the back nine was almost unplayable as it was so wet. We were having to move balls 15-20 yards at times to get a stance where you could actually stand without sinking.

You risked losing a ball on every shot unless it landed on the green as even on the fairways the ball went underground.

To be fair to the course, I imagine it is a really pleasant course to play when conditions are better. The greens were good even during the round described, the staff were friendly and the facilities are good.

Far too slow

On one hole, we had to wait for 3 other groups to play before us, all because the timing they set out, was never well planned. 4 x 4 balls playing a comp from white tees

Took overtly long and let no one through, which I understand but the course should never of put 5-7 2/3 balls playing behind in buggies some and only left a few mins apart

Definitely worth a visit

First time playing the course after it being recommended and I'd happily pass on that recommendation.

Course was a good challenge, greens are tough but fair. I won't mention hitting the flag on the par 3 9th from the tee, and rebounding 40 yards. Not going to mention that.

We were just hampered by the recent bad weather and the course was very boggy and the tees weren't cut so I'd love to revisit when it's better weather conditions. I suspect my ratings will all be high 4s or 5s as it really is a great course.
