Good course parking bad
As this is a golf complex and park during the weekend the car parking is very busy with family events going on, the course it’s self is decent though.
Quite a tight course As the tees sort of over lap each other it’s well set out though.
Not recommended if walking not to good as it’s very hilly, the greens are quite fast but well looked after and the views are superb on good days.
It’s likely to be a bit harsh in wet weather, but all in all It’s a good course.
More balls please
Very challenging course. Lost so many balls it was unbelievable mostly plugged in the rough and even some on the fairways. Very hilly. Im fairly fit but this course took it out of me. Also had a problem with couple of lads who clearly hadnt paid to play jump in front of us in the later round.
Very wet today
Very slutchy inderfoot and some cart paths worse - greens all fine, tees also. Fairways some very wet and too long, probably because they were so wet, rough VERY VERY LONG and lush, difficult to find balls just a metre off fairway.
That said still good value twilight golf

Worst I’ve ever played!
Walked off after 4 holes. Absolutely awful. Weather hadn’t been bad and was dry and sunny on the day but still the wettest course I’ve ever played. Sadly can’t upload the many terrible photos. Wigan council should be embarrassed!
Worst course in the world
This course was an absolute joke. Worst condition ive ever seen a golf course in. Even when your ball landed on the fairway it was buried right into the ground. It was a complete mudbath. Also the fairways was no different to the rough. How they can even charge £37 for a round of golf is ridiculous. Give this course a miss. It hadn’t even been raining as was still a swamp all over the course
One of the worst courses I’ve ever played
I’ve never played a course before where can hit a ball down the fairway and lose it because of how water logged it is. The course is basically one big Sunday league football pitch but worse. Not to mention the Slow play also. Took over 4 hours to Get round and to make matters worse my clothes and clubs need a chemical bath because of how much mud there is. Spend the extra couple of quid, go somewhere else and thank me later
Zero drainage
Played here today and was charged £18 each for the privilege,
I myself am not a great golfer but I can get around. My playing partners on the other hand arenas play off 9 and 12 respectively , the front 9 was shockingly waterlogged and we lost 12 balls between the 3 of us on the fairways. I get that balls can plug but when it’s happening on every hole it starts to become a very expensive round.
The greens were ok as usual but if it’s been raining slightly then I would avoid at all costs...
Excellent course
First round of golf here. Previous low handicap but not played for many years and really enjoyed the course and the challenges. A great example of a course suitable for all levels to enjoy. Will definitely return.
Greens decent rest awful
Course has a great layout and greens were good flat and rolled well- it’s just a pity rest is not up to same standard. No one to meet you for early morning pre booked round. Tees uneven and blocks looked like they haven’t been moved since lockdown. Fairways long on most holes and rough like a big in nearly every hole. Huge swathes of mud where course obviously isn’t draining - looked like course vehicles been doing handbrake turns on 2 holes. Inconsistent around edge of greens, some bits hard and bare yet further round same green lush and green. It really could be a gem but lacks basic course management from staff.
Decent round
Great course, quite a few trees to avoid and slightly hilly but in good condition. Would recommend
Lovely hot day
Great day of golf at Haigh Hall. The course even though we’ve not had much rain lately was a little soft underfoot to the point that the balls were plugging. The first nine were a breeze then we seem to hit a wall on the back nine. (Seemed to go on and on). A good variety to the holes making you have to think rather just than hit and hope. The course as a whole was an enjoyable experience and we will be back.
Very boggy and hilly
Despite excellent weather in previous days the course was very wet so ball often plugged and got very little run. This is obviously a problem with the nature of the land. Greens and fairways were okay but very little signage and markers. Located in a country park you have to pay to park your car and the queue at the payment machine was horrendous when leaving. Overall very disappointing and I won’t return.
Disappointingly damp
I know we have had a lot of rain this last few weeks but for this time of year the course was really damp and completely unplayable in certain areas, maybe they need to improve the drainage. It’s a nice course in a great location pity about the condition of it
Poor drainage - but ok for a novice
The course is not bad and suits novice and newer golfers, like myself in terms of there being tricky enough holes to keep it interesting, but not too difficult that it’s too hard a course.
But, having played on a dry day (with a few dry days prior to play)!there was lots of soft ground, even on the fairways. One drive plugged in the middle of the fairway!
The greens are generally good, but the rough was too long and in places boggy.
Good course for mid to high handicap players
Course was a bit wet underfoot especially the first few holes. We played the 18 in just over 3 hours.as it wasn’t too busy. We are 18 handicap players , so it’s a good course for mid to high players .Quite open in places so can get away with the odd wayward shot . We will play again.
You should have received an exit ticket for the car park from the clubhouse.
