Handsworth Golf Club

First time at this course and I would certainly like to return. Welcome in the club shop was friendly and this was mirrored by members throughout the round.

Course set up is great with mature trees, good dog legs and enough elevated tees and fairway bunkers to keep it interesting throughout. Bunkers are well sanded, greens are fast and fairways well maintained.

Can’t give it excellent scores all round as patches of fairway had struggled through the summer heat and some of the greens had been recently aerated but they still mostly played well. Shame holes 12/13 were out of commission for improvement works with temp setups/greens instead as they looked great holes (in particular the 12th with the brook encircling the green) for when they are back up and running.

Overall though one of the better Midlands courses I’ve visited. Locker room and facilities were perfectly good but didn’t have refreshments to comment on the bar/kitchen.

First of all the course is fantastic and definitely worth a game around for any golfer. There was major work being done on the 11th and 12th holes which did affect those holes but overall a great course. My only reservation is that we had to pay £3.99 for white ankle socks due to their dress code which I found a little harsh especially for visiting players. I understand the traditional views of some people in terms of Golfing ettire, but I feel this was just a bit to picky especially for paying visitors who may not know the dress code. Shame as the course as I have said was very good.

This was one of the best courses I have played in the

last year and found course great.

The course is Birmingham centre but no noise

when playing. You need to play this course and

you should have great time.

Note: They are doing work on 11 And 12 Holes

and will be out of action for 12-months

Have played this course a few times before and it is local to me and my golf playing partner so very handy. The price paid was after using an American golf voucher code for golf now booking (£20 off voucher). The price on the day was £24 x 2 plus booking fee equalling £15 each after discount applied.

The course was in excellent condition and you wouldn't notice now that all the bunkers on the course were completely 'relaid' last year so everything back to normal now. Its great to play a course like this as compared to playing ex council courses which is all my budget stretches to at present. This is a 'proper' course and is brilliantly kept. You can view each hole on the actual club website and get tips of how to play each one. As a visitor the club house staff were friendly and let us tee off early due to a quiet time. The green staff even offered to rake our bunkers if they were near our hole doing their regular maintenance. So we had a great day. I will be honest and say I couldnt afford to play here at full price but will always return if an offer is valid. We only used the members changing rooms which were fine but never had chance to sample any other off course facilities. I would definitely recommend this course and have returned a few times backing this up.

From start to finish , brilliant.Some absolute fantastic tees,good fairway and 85% of greens fast.only negative point ,lots of GUR areas.Look foreword to coming back.

The course is one of the best I have played it's simply fantastic.

We played after very wet weather so most holes were on temporary greens. Despite this we enjoyed the course, which is set in undulating mature parkland that belies its surroundings. The course layout is good with a good mixture of long medium and short holes. It was very kind off the tee when we played so the driver had a good outing. It maybe more challenging in summer months when the rough is more defined and challenging. We were made very welcome and will certainly return.

This was the third time I played Handsworth. The other two occasions have been during the summer months. This was just as good as we had a nice gap in front and a nice gap behind us! Course was in good condition with leaves been cleared. Everything was perfect for this game of golf.

Nothing negative to say will definitely play again.

Good course, nice layout, but greens bumpy due to work being carried out leaving grooves all over

Which made putting difficult.

Bunkers not in use due to previous work that has been carried out.

All in all not a very satisfactory round of golf

Due to said issues.

I would like to play there again when the greens are back to their best, and the Bunkers are back in use.

Hopefully l will be able to get a good deal when this is the case.

Absolutely love the facilities there having a practice range chipping & putting area was just great to get warmed up before teeing off. So massive thank you to everyone at handsworth
