Former Municipal Course next to Bham Airport

I had hoped that the improvements made to the course following it being taken over by the mytime charity group from B'ham City Council would have continued. Sadly not , the course condition overall was poor , greens inconsistent, fairways scruffy , tees in poor condition. The bunkers have always been awful and nothings changed. This is one of the more expensive courses of the B'ham group of courses and is therefore not as good value for money.

another great day

although we have played this course many times as it is so convenient when we go to N.E.C. it never fails to throw new challenges at us, a good dry day with a course that stimulates nothing could make a days golf go better

Played here for the first time in 5 years and noticed a vast improvement in the course and amenities that made it a good place to come to.

I started off driving and then lost 4 to 5 balls in the front nine as the rough is deep wide, and everywhere. Once I switched to an iron for straightness I improved my score greatly.

This is not a course to get your driver out and swing wildly at, as any balls off line will be lost.

If the rough was sorted out better then this would be a cracking course, but this is not something that i would be willing to pay more than a tenner for a round, as the game enjoyment went down a little because of this

Better than expected

I'd read some poor reviews on here recently about hatchford brook so my expectations were low, most reviews complaining about the greens.

Once I was out on the course I could not see any evidence to back up those reviews, the course was in great condition, the greens were perfect and it was lovely watching the planes take off and lots of rabbits and birds of prey about.

It's a flat course mind but that may suit the older golfer. I played my best round of 88 here and I'm a 28 handicapper so I did really enjoy it. Don't pay attention to the poor reviews, it's cheap enough to go and test it out yourself.

Wonderful club house and food and staff was great.

Wouldn't Bother Trying!

Picture a field between an airport and industrial units.... and then build a golf course on it!

I only played here as 'somewhere new' to try. Please take my advice and steer well clear. Forest of Arden, North Warwickshire and West Midlands are all better courses in the area so don't waste your time.

This is the first time I've ever felt the need to write a review through tee off times.

Course is good value, but not temp greens

Course is a nice test, there aren't many simple holes and accuracy is needed off the tee.

But I was annoyed at the lack of notice that temporary greens were in use - neither at the club or on the booking website. I would have chosen somewhere else if it had said that.

Shame, because that ruined what was otherwise a pleasant round!
