Great round
I used to be a member of the aylesford nearly 30 years ago but haven’t played here for a long time. Since then a number of holes have changed with a few short par 4s and extra par 3s slotted in where previously they were par 5s.
The course was in great condition. Greens very true and smooth.
Great value for money booking via GN.
Will definitely be booking another round here in the near future.
Practice facilities are excellent with a covered driving range, bunkers/short game area. Near the clubhouse is the putting green.
The guy in the pro shop and the fella in the starters hut were really friendly and helpful.
Great course
Great course. Very well looked after. Staff are really friendly.
Nice comdition
Played before 9am and took a two ball three hours, course in decent condition and greens rolling nicely. Good value for money
OK course but disappointing
26/05
Pace of Play: Played on a Tuesday afternoon when it was about 33 degrees, so probably noone else was stupid enough to play as we didn't really see anyone else out
Course Conditions: Disappointing to be honest. As soon as we stepped on the first tee box, it hadn't really been cut. The fairways weren't exactly cut and distinguished either. Quite a few patches of burnt grass on alot of the greens. All in all, considering it's mid May, was expecting more. Seems to be maintained (barely) rather than looked after and cared for with effort.
Staff Friendliness: Fine, no issues
Value for Money: At £27.50 a round, it's not expensive, however I'd expect more to be honest, especially considering I've paid £2/£3 more for some more local courses and been a lot more impressed.
Off Course Amenities: Nice bar and patio area, but low rating due to the severe lack of half way house. Not expecting a 5* star restaurant, but a tiny little dirty hut with water and no other drinks on offer is disappointing.
Gave it a 2* overall, as we won't be returning. It's a shame, because the whole place has great facilities, and if they put a bit more effort in, which they no doubt do with the "main course", they could make it a really good desitation for golfers to go, play a couple of rounds of golf, stay over, use the spa etc.
Good course
Great course to play putting green and chipping green great. Bunkers on course have little to no sand in so pretty hard to get out T box’s are great other then that, course is great. 29 handicap.
Lovely course
Lovely course tight fairways lined with trees some water hazards aswell so gotta keep it in the fairway really good condition well looked after some driverable par 4s short course and small greens cracking challenge guy in shop didn't seem to happy but I guess it was early and a Sunday and the guy that sets you off was great
Lovely course tight and small greens
Lovely course great layout well kept small greens to work with tight fairways don't go astray as you will get punished some driverable par 4s overall nice knock will deffo be back to try again guy in shop didn't seem to happy but it was early on a Sunday
Awesome course & staff
Highly recommended, awesome course & very helpful & friendly staff
Lovely layout
A great corse in great condition . Only down side was waiting 30 minutes in a queue for a drink afterwards
Drinks
The weather was brilliant, my golf was average, the course was in a nice condition, the greens were fast but the big downside is the price of drinks……nearly £15 for 2 lagers! That alone will not encourage the average golfer who works hard, has a wife and kids, runs a car and wants a bit of down time on the golf course.
Nice day
Greens were excellent hard to chip did better when chipping with a sixty degree wedge ball runs on greens with the sixty degree still fairways were a little fluffy but playable bunkers took a bit of getting used to had to really splash it out with a bit of umph so good just different course lay out excellent some challenging holes
My handicap is 17.2 has been a bit lower
So first weekend of the season course was good and will probably be better as the season gets going
Really enjoyed the day and will go again in the future
Fantastic
Excellent course. Course conditions were great considering the weather we’ve had lately. Friendly staff. Overall, brilliant day.
Brilliant!
For the time of year and after all of the rain we’ve had playing conditions were excellent. Highly recommend this course
OK but not great
Greens in good condition. Signage and Yardages all very clear.
However, course was very very wet (in many ways to be expected), however on many holes it was hard to see fairways and not clearly defined. This was probably due to their inability to get mowers out in the wet weather.
Although bunkers were GUR, it was easy to see they are going to be great when they open. The work done looked superb.
In better conditions the course is probably quite nice, but for us on this day it was not in good enough condition (except for the fact it was very cheap)
Well worth a visit
Played in damp condition but the Aylesford course was exceptionally presented. Greens immaculate and dry, fairways not over cut and also dry and playing from main tee boxes too - a real credit to the green staff ! Well done
Pro shop was friendly and helpful, cafe was efficient for a pre game coffee and the starter was a very pleasant chap.
And value for money - absolutely!!
Not my first visit (played both courses) and won’t be my last !!
Thank you Team Arden, a job well dine
