Return to Hazlemere
Another good round here. Couple of holes where you can’t hold the fairway but made up for with number of strong holes especially those far side of the valley. I walked with trolley you do need a bit of stamina. Nice cuppa from bar after round.
Good course, very good value
Have played a few times and always impressed. Quite short but very well thought out holes so a decent challenge. ALways in good condition and pace of play generally good, especially if playing late afternoon
Enjoyable
Good course whichbwas in great condition. Hilly so not for the faint-hearted & friendly staff.
Very fast greens
Play here a lot , great condition, greens very fast , with the pins close to the edges of the greens made it interesting, I would say best value course on the area, pick your time to play and it's great .
Good, but could be great
Exhausting! Huge elevation changes, right from the off. Older or less fit folks won't manage. I did 200m of elevation changes, most of that on 8 of the holes. It makes for amazing tee shots on par4s that end up pin high if you normally only hit 230-40, but I had to stop for a rest on a few climbs.
The hitting net is a post apocalyptic left over, and would be so cheap and simple to fix, but is dire.
Stones in most bunkers. I didn't find any this round, but would have taken free relief on most of them.
Par 4 5th made no sense, with the trees as they were. Enormous slope going away from you, with trees guarding the green. You'd need to hook, not draw, the ball to get on the green.
First cut nonexistent. They were mowing the course and a few holes ahead of me, so it was as fresh cut as can be - and you go from a Good-standard Fairway, straight into heavy rough (~5cm). All over groundskeeper work was excellent, but that did mean that anything not on the fairway, even by an inch, was suddenly a shot from the thick stuff.
BUT
I was made to feel welcome
The course looked great
Greens were excellent
Fairways tight
Interesting layout
Good facilities
I shot my second best ever round
I will return, but would like the warmup area sorted.
Not great..
Played this course as a two ball for the first time. Didn’t love it for a few reasons. A lot of the greens are invisible until you are upon them due to them being down in the valley or up on the hill and the signage is not great or non existent. Also the course is very compact and at times it felt as though there were balls from multiple holes whizzing around. It wasn’t very relaxing to play. The course and greens were in good condition and the clubhouse is good, but we probably won’t return. There’s lots of choice in the area
Good value course, with some challenging holes
Have played Hazlemere several times. The course has some steep hills and a few blind holes. It is actually quite forgiving to 'waywould' tee shots ! Greens are in good condition, and when we played it was not too busy. Many of the fairways do slope left to right, so some local knowledge is useful as to where to try and aim.
Large carpark, friendly bar staff with plenty of seating.
Always great value for money
One of the best value for money courses in the area. Consistent greens and huge elevation changes will keep you guessing despite not being the longest. Various holes demanding different shot shapes and great pace of play whenever I'm here. Recently got round in under 3 hours as a single despite playing 3 or 4 balls on each hole. If you struggle to walk a full 18 this will be tough as it is very hilly, but there are buggies available. An absolute hidden gem and one of my favourite courses when I'm on a budget.
GAME OF UP AND DOWN HILLS
It’s a scenic views of the course when you stop and look back and around on numerous holes. The course is in good shape. Luckily we played on a sunny hot day, but if it’s raining or has been in the last 24hrs then it’s a course to avoid as we have experienced that in the past. Buggy isn’t necessary but if you don’t like walking and especially up and down and sideways on hills then get a buggy. We walked but you do look around and sometimes wonder why on earth didn’t I get a buggy! We had a 4 baller in 2 buggy’s in front of us and they did ask if we wanted to play through, clearly there game wasn’t on track. Some holes you can see the pin but some you wonder where am I hitting the ball. That’s only on around 4 holes that I recall. Overall a good course, challenging both on the game and legs and back, but worth playing even if it’s the once. No driving range but it’s well maintained but the green keepers.
Behind Club match!
The course is easy on the eye with some birdieable opportunities though it is VERY hilly!
We booked a hot deal which was good value but it didn't take us long to catch up with a club match so rather than play the back 9 we played the front again to prevent it becoming a 5 hour round.
Top tier golf course
Wonderful golf course, extremely well kept and a pleasure to play a round on!!
Great course in excellent condition
On a perfect sunny day the course was in excellent condition from the tee boxes, the fairways, all the hazards and bunkers. The greens were immaculate and played pretty quick so expect them to be quicker through the coming months. Whilst it’s not a long course the hills and layout are challenging for any golfer. As with all courses straight hitting is the key and you get a lot of value with the ball running along the fairways.
Can’t fault it and would recommend. We’ll be playing there again soon.
Great course, hilly though!
Well kept and technical course. In a valley where holes are ok either side of the valley so couldn’t always see where one was supposed to aim, could’ve used more indicators on course as to where flag was.
Not for a novice
This is a very challenging course. The fairways are In good condition however, the greens were very hard and fast, could do with more watering. Makes the scoring less accurate when greens are that fast, not holding or gripping any lofted chips. There also needs to be more information on the hole at the tee off point.
