Great greens
Greens were in fantastic condition for this time of year, in fact the whole course was very good. Only slight issue was winter tee mats but I can see the reason for them particularly as the morning was very wet.
Totally amazing for golf!
Layout and course conditions outstanding…..simply get it booked!
Excellent Course
The weather wasn’t great at the start of the round but the course was in excellent condition. Accuracy is key. Will definitely return *****
Ladies golf
Booked this course whilst staying away with friends. Was fabulous brilliant conditions and a good test of golf. Staff friendly and helpful.
Friendly
Friendly is a good way to review Horsley and it’s not just the staff the members are also very friendly too, although I have to say it was the bar staff that came out on top.

Played this course a few times now, great layout with some challenging holes, good quality greens and a good standard all round. Worth playing if you haven’t played here before.
Great Course saves the day
Booked for last day before lockdown and expected it to be busy. However some additional bookings (?) prior to us meant we teed of about 30 minutes late. We were on verge of walking out and asking for refund when it looked like being an even longer wait, and less chance of completing the round before dark.
The course itself was in very good condition bearing in mind recent bad weather. Winter teeing mats, Fairways fine (winter rules) and greens a bit bumpy after recent pre-winter work.
Pace of play was poor on first nine but as some bailed out with twilight approaching it speeded up. Completed last hole in semi-dark.
Great value for money but the afore mentioned delays meant that we were somewhat rushed and hence only 4 stars.
Will definitely return.
2 and a half hours....6 holes
Shocking pace of play, 45 mins to complete 2 holes, waited every t box, every fairway...
Would not recommend if you want a quick round of golf.

First time playing this course and will most definitely be back again. A well looked after course, greens and fairways in excellent condition and I can honestly say not one bad hole. A challenging course ... keep it straight and pick your way around will give opportunities to score! All in all well worth playing with a friendly atmosphere.
Lovely course
Green keeper wants a bonus
Great day ,welco.ing staff and the course was in superb condition.
Going back next week
A real gem
The best greens in all Derbyshire. Honestly, the best. The course is relatively short but you need to be in the fairway as there are trees everywhere and you'll be totally blocked out. The course is pretty hill (it is in Derbyshire!) but well laid out and you don't have other wayward groups in your fairway. The greens are a thing of beauty. So true, good pace and with huge slopes. Sooooo fun much.
I played alone and a 4 ball in front were awful but didn't let me through, which, technically, is fair enough as a single player has no standing (a ridiculously out-dated rule) so I played the front 9 twice - one of the best thing about having two loops of 9 that start and finish at the clubhouse. I've played before so I wasn't really missing out plus I like to have a good practise when I'm playing alone.
Clubhouse bar and 10th hole coffee shop has reopened, obviously with some limitations. Staff are friendly and the pro shop is well stocked and well priced.
Apart from Kedleston Park (which is £50 more for a round) and Cavendish in Buxton it's right up there as the best course in Derbyshire.
The course was very well presented.
The course was lovely, greens were perfect the best me and my brother have ever played on. We have played at what are meant to be better courses but they don’t compare.
A good test with fantastic greens
Course in great condition especially the greens, nice and quick you can trust the roll.
Also a good pace of play.
