Penrith Golf Club

Great course to play. Trevor in the Pro Shop was an excellent. Pace of play wasn’t the courses fault but there was some waiting for the 2 groups in front at times. The greens were being cored the day we played so didn’t get a chance to play most of the greens but overall, and the greens we did play, the course was in good condition.

Played the day after the masters so I imagine it probably inspired most to head out onto the course, but it did result in fairly slow play - 1 hour to do the first 4 holes 😅

An exception to the norm, but otherwise a really fun day playing a scramble with a friend

After the course having 2 days of heavy rain prior to my round, I wasn’t expecting the conditions to be perfect! But greenkeepers need a lot of credit Turing over the course! Tee shots are tight and make you think about second shot from standing on the tee. The Green’s were soft but that made flag hunting more fun! Ran true to lines. Overall fantastic course that I would love to play again!

Staff in pro shops were super! Easy sign in and use of all facilities.

I traveled down from Edinburgh and used Penrith as a stop over on way to Liverpool to split up the drive - best decision I made.

Excellent course, Greens lovely and well kept, they also run true. Overall course tidy. Members, are very friendly, Pace was good, had too wait occasionally, however we were only a two ball, on a busy day, so that can only be expected,

Only one criticism, men were repairing the divots, near the 4th green, The man driving the buggy, continue to drive, whilst I was putting. He stopped driving, when my husband was putting. As I went to put, again he started to drive. Food was lovely and staff pleasant and friendly in the club house.

Will definitely, be back next year.

Another lovely round at Penrith. This place never disappoints, the whole place is spotless, it's clearly well looked after and cared for by the greenstaff and the members. Honestly there's just nothing to fault, even the weather seems to play nice every time we've been here.

Amazing value for money regarding the course conditions and challenges entailed along with beautiful scenic setting! Would recommend to all types of players and we’ll certainly be back!

The staff and members couldn’t have been any friendlier, a member shared his birthday cake, loaned us strike mates because of the winter conditions

This is the first time I have booked through golf now , easy to use and a great price for a round at £16 , the £40 -£45 green fees ( standard non member ) would be out of my budget

I called at the pro shop and registered as my t time was 2.12 , I was told I had been buddied up with another golfer due to him booking through the same app and the course being busy

I enjoyed the company and we played averagely at best

The fairways were in great condition as were the greens , although very fast and an inexperienced golfer like myself soon went shooting past the hole

I would recommend this course for the views across the Lakeland fells

I will be back for another round soon hopefully

Never really got over enthused by Penrith course. Don't get me wrong, it's fine in many ways, conditions and layout good, etc though the greens had just been spiked before I got out which made putting a bit of a lottery. Depending what you're going to pay it is worth a visit. I paid £33 which in my opinion is enough, prices go higher though and I'm less convinced I'd want to pay more than that.

The course was in good condition considering the recent weather.

Played this course many times and would recommend you give it a try, great views of the lake district hills.

Fantastic views and quirky testing variation of holes. Friendly staff in shop and bar - food delicious. Greens were 9/10 apart from the 1st for some reason.
