Penrith Golf Club

The course had great views of the lakes. Not as hilly as you might think and in great condition. Not as much variety in design as others but more than made up for it with the quality and friendliness of everyone we met.

From start to Finnish and enjoyable visit to Penrith Golf Club. A lovely welcome from the gentleman in the pro-shop who explained the course to us. A lovely parkland course in very good condition and a good layout. The fairways were in good condition and the greens were immaculate. When we finished our round we enjoyed an off and cake in the clubhouse be fore leaving.

I would recommend Penrith Golf Club to anyone looking for a round of golf in this area. I will certainly be back.

My wife and I's 1st time playing Penrith and we cannot fault the course which was in immacuate condition and a credit to the friendly greenkeeping staff.

The couple of members we met were also very friendly and helped us with directions to the range, ball dispenser etc.

The Clubhouse was unfortunately a different experience altogether, having stood around in the Pro Shop for 20 minutes without seeing a soul to entering the bar at 09 50am to be left standing having been told to wait till 10am for food and drink service to begin whilst others finished their bacon rolls and coffee.

Eventually meeting the somewhat disgruntled we think professional in the shop who appeared somewhat disinterested in helping us to find our way around.

Not the welcome that befits such a wonderful golf course with views to die for.

We regularly pass the course on our frequent travels north and wiil definitely play again, albeit I fear as car park golfers

Played a friendly round with a few mates, greens made of sand, staff very rude. 1/5 would probably not play again

Greens in superb condition as are fairways. Interesting layout with some tricky holes. Tough walk but views are great from some tees and greens

Absolutely beautiful course which was in perfect condition. Hard but very fair and really well laid out. Will be definitely be back.

Great course to play. Trevor in the Pro Shop was an excellent. Pace of play wasn’t the courses fault but there was some waiting for the 2 groups in front at times. The greens were being cored the day we played so didn’t get a chance to play most of the greens but overall, and the greens we did play, the course was in good condition.

Played the day after the masters so I imagine it probably inspired most to head out onto the course, but it did result in fairly slow play - 1 hour to do the first 4 holes 😅

An exception to the norm, but otherwise a really fun day playing a scramble with a friend

After the course having 2 days of heavy rain prior to my round, I wasn’t expecting the conditions to be perfect! But greenkeepers need a lot of credit Turing over the course! Tee shots are tight and make you think about second shot from standing on the tee. The Green’s were soft but that made flag hunting more fun! Ran true to lines. Overall fantastic course that I would love to play again!

Staff in pro shops were super! Easy sign in and use of all facilities.

I traveled down from Edinburgh and used Penrith as a stop over on way to Liverpool to split up the drive - best decision I made.

Excellent course, Greens lovely and well kept, they also run true. Overall course tidy. Members, are very friendly, Pace was good, had too wait occasionally, however we were only a two ball, on a busy day, so that can only be expected,

Only one criticism, men were repairing the divots, near the 4th green, The man driving the buggy, continue to drive, whilst I was putting. He stopped driving, when my husband was putting. As I went to put, again he started to drive. Food was lovely and staff pleasant and friendly in the club house.

Will definitely, be back next year.

Another lovely round at Penrith. This place never disappoints, the whole place is spotless, it's clearly well looked after and cared for by the greenstaff and the members. Honestly there's just nothing to fault, even the weather seems to play nice every time we've been here.

Amazing value for money regarding the course conditions and challenges entailed along with beautiful scenic setting! Would recommend to all types of players and we’ll certainly be back!
