Diasappointment

Heavy underfoot with lots of standing water. Greens small. No staff present when we began our round - no signage to first tee. To be fair maps on tee boxes were helpful

Keswick

Booked on a Hot deal and well was it worth it!

The course was challenging but in lovely condition despite being boggy in places but the location is responsible for that . sandwiched between mountain ranges offers wonderful views. however , the thing which impressed me the most was a pictorial noticeboard at each hole outlining what lay ahead Which I found invaluable as it was the first time playing the course

Poor conditions, stunning scenery

Sad to say but this course has declined from when I last played, lots of tress cut and gone which form the holes, drainage seems worse than ever, lots of plugged balls on the fairway, and the greens are simply put, very poor, appear to not have had any care during lock down, patches dying off and no true roll on any. Really disappointing round. Shame as this course in some of the most beautiful surrounding scenery you could wish for.

A Bog

A friend has warned us it wasn’t a good winter course but even in July after one night of rain there was standing water everywhere which made shots out of the rough impossible, you were digging your ball out of the fairway and putting was like jet skiing.

Real shame the drainage is so bad as the layout and views are pretty good.

Keswick golf club

Good test of golf in beautiful surroundings.

The recent drought has had its effect on several greens which were quite poor.

Clubhouse was great.

Hard Work

Testing conditions due to recent rain. Some holes very difficult for high handicap golfers due to long carries off tee. But pleasant overall and stunning scenery.

Few great holes and a decent test in a nice setting

Tried this course as it's close to the inlaws. Gorgeous setting and some great views but the course layout could be so much better with s bit more thought into shaping the fairways and making it interesting. Fairways were poor but greens were good. No bunkers means you stay out of most of the trouble, but some tight out of bounds around some of the greens mean you have to be careful with the approach shots.

Overall there are better courses nearby to play (Cockermouth for example) but it's worth a visit. I got a deal and I don't think I would pay full price to play her again.

The clubhouse is nice and very traditional but down a single track road with speed bumps. The pro was very pleasant and had left free bottles of water at the first tee which I thought was a nice touch.

Good golf course.

An overall satisfactory day's golf. However the course was extremely wet and the greens were not very good (probably as a result of the wet conditions). I am also concerned that around the 14th green/15th tee and left hand side of the 16th fairway numerous trees have been removed for no obvious reason and in my humble opinion excerbating the flooding issues.
