Good starter course
I've been out of the game for some time due to health problems so thought I'd book a 9 hole session to break myself in gently. The course was very forgiving and didn't cause any problem.
First Time Here and a Great experience…
My partner and I booked for 9 holes as we only live 15mins away. We’d not played at Mattishall before and we’re relatively newbies to the golfing world. The fairways are mostly straight-ish with a sprinkling of bunkers and water hazards (if only we could consistently hit the ball straight!). The greens were very well kept and, for us, very fast!!
The staff were very helpful and friendly (shout out to Rachel) and the facilities of the Golf Academy (including 3 virtual golfing bays) were very impressive. We are definitely coming back!!
Hidden treasure
Course in good condition! Greens in very good condition! On site driving range (£3 for 30 balls which is perfect to get warm before the round) practice putting green and practice bunker also! combination of easy and hard holes - although there are only 9 holes, after 9 the tee shots are in slightly different locations meaning the holes are either shorter or longer and at a different angle - I will be returning here that’s for sure
Nice course for beginners
My wife is just starting and this was perfect. The course is a little flat and up and down but still the holes are challenging. Would certainly return and the driving range is also good.

Such a shame - disappointed as normally a good course but sooo slow due to competition
Sadly, disappointed in an attempt to play 9 holes today .did 4 holes and it took an hour!
I left as there was a ladies friendly competition with 4 x 4 balls and a 2 ball in front so I had to wait which isn't great especially when I only wanted to play 9 holes.
The Manager should block out a morning or afternoon if friendly's or competitions are on so normally turn up or member players can then play at a decent pace!
I was told to avoid Thursdays for a few weeks which is a shame as I enjoy playing there and the staff are really nice and friendly.

The course was in great condition properly the best I’ve seen it! Greens where great.
Good morning golf 9 holes
Played on this course before - 9 holes.
Good layout overall and a good pace to go.
Nice day as well weather wise but as it has been wet this course can be somewhat boggy in areas but the course has had some work done in those key areas so easy to walk to next tee.
Can be a bit challenging if you cannot hit straight!
