Mendip GC Excellent Course and Facilities

I traveled up from Torquay and met my son who traveled down from Basingstoke to play at the Mendip Golf Course.

I picked this course as it was halfway distance for both of us, but also due to the great reviews.

We were both very impressed with the friendliness of the Pro in the Shop on arrival and explaining the course layout and with our booking details.

The driving range facilities are in excellent condition and Taylor Made practice balls in great condition.

The short game are is also in excellent condition.

We also had food in the club house before teeing off and that was also great value and the staff were really welcoming.

The day was a bit windy with stunning views and the course was in great shape with some very interesting holes all in very good condition.

We both enjoyed the day and will make this a regular occurrence.

I would highly recommend a visit.

Countryside Course in great nick

We have played this course a few times but not so much recently as it's a bit of a drive from where we live. However, the course was in as good a nick as I can remember, with the green very true if not especially fast.

The shop and members were very friendly, letting us (a two ball) through on the first tee and then playing through a three ball a few holes later. this meant that we completed the round in around 3.5 hours.

The course has some great (mainly par 4 ) holes and superb view over the Mendips and Glastonbury tour.

We didn't have time to hang around for refreshments after but there is a good looking driving range and putting facilities on site.

Will play again !

Excellent course, well maintained and if you can get a deal for the tee time it’s a win win. Challenging but will be playing here again. Staff were friendly at the pro shop and spoke to us before teeing off. Pace of play was good and stopped before the 10th as you play back to the shop to grab a drink. Would recommend to anyone to play here and the membership isn’t too expensive when I had a look.

Great course

I found the Mendip to be an excellent course. The course is very well maintained and the difficulty level is quite challenging, which makes the play even more interesting. The greens were in perfect conditions. There was a good pace of play. Probably, because of the day and time I played. I highly recommend this course. Looking forward to playing here again in the near future.

Don’t bother if there’s low cloud or fog!!

When booking online make sure you get a accurate weather forecast as if there’s low cloud or fog the whole course had only 60 yards of visibility.. this made my round boring as I had no target to aim for,and dangerous as other players can’t see you either on the fairway from the tee or the greens...

Great weekend golf for a 'Visitor' in Somerset

Thoroughly enjoyable. Course was playable despite a lot of overnight rain.Only disappointment was there were 4 temporary greens which were not mentioned when we checked in.
