Nice Course near Stratford

Nice course, a few hills, nice variation, good condition

Shame about 4 ball in buggies being slow but hey

Also circa 5.45pm tee off, Scottish man on his own teeing off on the first knocked the ball to within 10yds of us with no shout of “four”….

When challenged got told to not be so sensitive

Nice to see he was that good he told he could see it wasn’t any where near us but 30 yds wide of the fairway

I hoped he enjoyed his round on his own….

The greens had been tined and heavily sanded, probably due to never being closed through bad weather / winter? Which led to awful irregular bounce and going straight through on some.

Would go back once greens are not under work. Really nice course with some great holes.

Great course, but pace of play was shocking

Played first three holes and had to walk back to go to the back 9 as we had to wait 15 minutes to tee off on the 4th and we’re still waiting for another 4 ball to tee off in front of us. Gave up after hole 15 unfortunately.

Highly recommend

First time playing at The Welcombe 4 balls, green are in good condition, after all bad weather we have lately. Love the par 3 #6 & #9, highly recommend. If I live locally will consider be come a member, well done to the green keeper, keeping the course in good shape, will definitely come back A+ course.

Great Value for Money

Good day out as not far to travel.

The course was in good condition wet in places but that was to be expected due to recent weather. It’s not a course for the faint hearted as quite long but has interesting and very different holes.

Staff were pleasant ,welcoming and greeted us by name that was a nice touch we just stayed for a hot drink after the round and that was good.

All round great value for the money will look for another deal in the spring

Interesting holes, great challenege

Played this course as my first post lockdown course 3 years ago, came back and it’s just as good if not better than I remembered. Course was in great condition considering overnight frost and the rain over the last 2 months, all areas extremely playable, greens ran well with the odd bobble due to frost, fairways a good length and rough the right length to present it as a hazard as it should be.

Some great hole layouts across both 9’s with excellent bunkering, tee positioning and water features. Not one hole leaves you thinking it was just a bit meh, and not many courses can say that.

Highly recommend

Great Golf Course at the Welcombe

Considering the awful wet weather we’ve had of late the course was in reasonable condition with no temporary tees or greens. We lost the last 3 holes as the green keepers were on maintenance duties and seem to be in front of us which was annoying but completely understandable. Will definitely be back soon for another game.
