Plopped this fella right on the front of the green to roll on to with in 2 feet of the pin and managed to hole out for Par on the par 5 17th. Best shot of the day. Photo submitted by u236947870 on 06/23/2024

Gem of a course
Never played before, but what a gem
Played on 16th Oct & got lucky with a perfect warm sunny day with little wind. Fairways were awesome. Lovely tight lies that you would expect from a heathland style course. Greens in good nick too & very true, so any missed putts were due to the putting stroke !
With a good drive, most par 4's reachable with a short 2nd iron shot. Good mix of long & short par 3's
Everyone was friendly & welcoming + added bonus of seeing New Forest ponies wandering happily around the course
Would recommend
Golf
The course was busy but the pace was good with no slow play.
Had 2 players instead of 4
I was unaware of the fact that if you pay for 4 players and only 2 can make it that you do not get a refund or a voucher. I wasn’t aware that you cannot get a refund from the course or from golf now on hot deals which is unfortunate.
Enjoyed the course
Warm welcome when we arrive. Not busy, so we teed off almost immediately, ahead of our tee time. Some of the greens were not in fantastic condition, but this is to be expected when there is such amazing wildlife wandering around the course. It wasn’t the most challenging of courses as it was quite forgiving (I didn’t lose a ball which is most unusual) with wide fairways, and so I would definitely recommend it for a high handicapper. However, my wife and I both enjoyed all round and would visit the course again.
Great place to play
Good course and fast greens with the joy of seeing many horses on the course
Good value for money. Greens good. Very open and not to demanding. Friendly course. Limited amenities
A good all rounder
Always enjoy playing this little gem - tip , spring summer are the best months
Great value for money and good greens
A really good value course on typical New Forest terrain. Greens and tees were very good and a good pace of play. Ok, not the most interesting of layouts on fairly flat land but very enjoyable amongst the wildlife of the Forest - pony’s and cows. Definitely worth a visit; staff are very friendly and a really nice courtyard 19th hole.

Friendly and helpful clubhouse staff
Nice open course with great views- clubhouse staff very friendly and helpful.
golf in spring
course very dry due to lack of rain, the course is very open and so its difficult to lose a ball.
Glorious Forest Course
We were a bit unlucky to have booked an afternoon tee time behind a very large society group. It meant that the pace of play was slow but as we were first time visitors and it was such a glorious day, we were in no hurry.
The course is lovely and open and there are a real variety of holes. You are quite conscious of other groups playing around you on other holes but somehow, they rarely intrude.
The rough - what there is of it - if fairly user friendly. Even though it's still April, the course was very dry and you certainly got full value for your shots with the ball running across the fairway. Fairways were a bit patchy in places but not a huge issue.
Best of all, we loved the greens. They were in lovely condition and very consistent in their pace. Really well planned, with some testing undulations and a few very craftily placed pin positions (the 9th green was a cracker!)
Finishing a bit late, we didn't stay for a refreshment but you could see that the outdoor seated area was being well used.
We really enjoyed the round and I'd look forward to playing there again. Definitely worth a visit!
Pretty little course
Real fun holiday golf. Not long but great find. 20 minutes from Southampton and New Forest ponies grazing on the course. Not the hardest or longest but certainly a challenge and very friendly with a good bar and food sitting out on a terrace with great views. All clubs in the bag are needed.
Farmers field with greens
Very poor signage for next tees, bare lies everywhere and the well versed greens were solid. Did see some horses and deer though.
Good old course for the average golfer
Proper forest course without your standard fairways and the greens that are in very good order. Old, relaxed and traditional feel to the club. Wonderful wildlife and forest surroundings. Signage limited due to forest restrictions but no distance from green to tee. Nice course to walk no buggies available and not necessary. Good value and friendly.
