Plopped this fella right on the front of the green to roll on to with in 2 feet of the pin and managed to hole out for Par on the par 5 17th. Best shot of the day. Photo submitted by u236947870 on 06/23/2024

Glorious Forest Course
We were a bit unlucky to have booked an afternoon tee time behind a very large society group. It meant that the pace of play was slow but as we were first time visitors and it was such a glorious day, we were in no hurry.
The course is lovely and open and there are a real variety of holes. You are quite conscious of other groups playing around you on other holes but somehow, they rarely intrude.
The rough - what there is of it - if fairly user friendly. Even though it's still April, the course was very dry and you certainly got full value for your shots with the ball running across the fairway. Fairways were a bit patchy in places but not a huge issue.
Best of all, we loved the greens. They were in lovely condition and very consistent in their pace. Really well planned, with some testing undulations and a few very craftily placed pin positions (the 9th green was a cracker!)
Finishing a bit late, we didn't stay for a refreshment but you could see that the outdoor seated area was being well used.
We really enjoyed the round and I'd look forward to playing there again. Definitely worth a visit!
Pretty little course
Real fun holiday golf. Not long but great find. 20 minutes from Southampton and New Forest ponies grazing on the course. Not the hardest or longest but certainly a challenge and very friendly with a good bar and food sitting out on a terrace with great views. All clubs in the bag are needed.
Farmers field with greens
Very poor signage for next tees, bare lies everywhere and the well versed greens were solid. Did see some horses and deer though.
Good old course for the average golfer
Proper forest course without your standard fairways and the greens that are in very good order. Old, relaxed and traditional feel to the club. Wonderful wildlife and forest surroundings. Signage limited due to forest restrictions but no distance from green to tee. Nice course to walk no buggies available and not necessary. Good value and friendly.
Fantastic day
Great course , short but tricky . Greens were lightening fast but true .
Highly recommended , will play there again very soon
Good
Course was in great shape, fairways and greens in excellent condition, wouldn't have thought it been shut down for a year. Only a 3 start for amenities as bar still shut, but could still have a drink afterwards.
Do like this course, but think it's a bit naughty charging as Much as they did just cause we're aloud to play again.
fairways and greens very poor
booked a round on golf now there was no mention on there telling us there were 10 winter greens in play and in poor condition. some tee boxes were OK but majority were poor. Fairways were terrible. when we asked in the pro shop are the temp greens in good condition reply was yes if the horses haven't been on them all round not enjoyable would not recommend.
Review playing 06/12/20
The course was in good condition considering the rainfall we had. Enjoyed the round. I would play there again. A couple of temp greens, one of which was some distance from the actual green, which made the hole very different. Went round in 3 hours with no hold ups. Overall, very pleased.
Lovely course
My first time playing this golf course and I really enjoyed it. Open fairways in a lovely setting in the New Forest. Considering the lockdown and the amount of rain in the last few days the fairways were still firm and the greens were in good condition. I would definitely play here again.
Forest course
Great to be in the new forest ,
Large fairways , good greens ,
Great fun thank you new forest course !!
Fun course with challenge
Decent greens for a forest course.
Fairways particularly good for October
Very enjoyable
Nice friendly club with enjoyable course
Lovely experience. Warm and helpful welcome from members and professional. Reduced catering due to Covid but had a hot pie and coffee before play. Course was well laid out, with wide fairways and not much trouble. Greens were slow but nice. A nice feature was the New Forest ponies wandering sround the course. Overall a really nice round on a pretty, shortish and manageable course. Great value for money.
Any slower it would stop
Very slow play with people who have no idea how to play. It's about time clubs stopped taking the money and making sure people have a basic Understanding and able to hit a ball more than 30 yards. 38 pounds for 3 hours to get 9 holes never again.
Great value
Average layout but a great value green fee.
It is always a pleasant walk in a lovely setting even if you're not playing well.
The greens putt well and are a reasonable speed.
The course condition is excellent seeing that this is common land.
Great location
Lovely course would play again .
They aren’t allowed to put signage up so the tee boxes and flags are confusing even with the printout the gave us we shot at the wrong green .
Also the tees weren’t level which I feel is not great . Grade them back and level them off !
A lovely course, quirky, friendly and helpful staff
I hadn't played the course before, but was impressed with the friendly welcome by the pro staff, explaining the course layout etc and a small course map. Alll necessary Covid precautions were in place.
The course is quite quirky with the ponies and cattle wandering around, but there wasn't any real detrimental affect to the course as it was pretty firm. It was a lovely walk, the greens ran pretty true and although it was a little slow in places, the weather was quite hot and it was nice scenery.
I would definitely revisit the course, also the bar prices were very reasonable, Dibden please take note.
