Plopped this fella right on the front of the green to roll on to with in 2 feet of the pin and managed to hole out for Par on the par 5 17th. Best shot of the day. Photo submitted by u236947870 on 06/23/2024

Friendly club, great value for money with the greens in good nick.
Although the course is on the relative short side, this is more than made up for by the par 69. Some tough par 3s make it a fair challenge although fairways are mainly on the generous side. Pace of play was excellent, 3.5 hrs for a 3 ball which included a couple of short breaks to don waterproofs due to a couple of heavy showers.
Greens were in excellent condition and consistent throughout. A very enjoyable round for £22 per person - great value!
Have to play this course
First off, the staff were fantastic. Missed out tee off time due to some horrendous traffic. Couldn't have been anymore accommodating and Michael sorted us a new tee of time. Amenities were basic, but didn't see much of this due to covid.
The course itself is interesting, beginning with a herd of cattle crossing the first fairway at tee off time. Plenty of ponies on the course too. The course is fairly short and not too difficult, however we played on one of the hottest days of the year and the fairways were like concrete in places. The greens however were in excellent condition.
It was an enjoyable round (if a little too hot) only criticism would be the lack of signage, finding your next tee could be a challenge on a few holes (even with a course map)
All in all a decent little course and good value, would definitely play here again.
Easy paced round
The course is in good condition at this time of year.
Decent run on the fairways, tees are pretty tidy and the greens have a decent roll on them.
Can’t fault the value for money.
Beautiful course but the fairways might as well be concrete
We enjoyed our round, the course is unique and the greens are well kept, but the fairways were so hard it was effectively like striking the ball off concrete.
Great price & nice location
Really enjoyed the round, the lady in the shop was very friendly and helpful, strange playing a course with wild ponies walking around but not a problem even with one sleeping in the fairway bunker, a gem of a course with nice greens
Great day in the new forest. The staff are welcoming and friendly.
Great Day in a great part of the world
Very nice course in the forest, some tricky greens to stay on, putting had some very subtle breaks. Great value for money! Will definitely play here again when I in the area
A gem
New Forest GC is a cracker. It’s a quirky layout mixing short par 4s with long par 3s and a couple of reachable par 5s. In dry conditions this is a great test of your skills whatever your hcp. In the wet it’s another matter as Forest ground doesn’t drain well you have been warned.
A fun round of golf
Booked on Golf Now, travelled almost 100 miles and enjoyed my time at this course. The lady in the pro shop was very helpful even supplying me with a map to help me find the next teeing ground and trust me, I needed it as it was my first time here and I played alone. Some very challenging holes but some easier one too so a good balance overall.
Be aware that cows and horses roam the fairways which can be a bit disconcerting at times. Also there are no water fountains on the course so make sure you stock up on drinks before heading out.
Great Fun and Always different.
Just played the course for the first time in around 5 years. A hugely enjoyable experience post lockdown with well maintained greens and the usual excellent helpful and friendliness of the staff. It is a mostly flat course, ideal for the less agile. The course is looking good, and playing well. It is fun sharing the course with the local wildlife, with horses ponys and cows all present and correct. My pal and I were able to plsy at a good pace, with a slower gtoup in front allowing us to play through, so etiquette was maintained! Highly recommended.
A Very Enjoyable Round Of Golf
Very much enjoyed my round here. Received a friendly welcome when checking in and encountered very friendly members during my round who all observed course etiquette, insisting on waving me through when there was a gap in play ahead of them. Look forward to playing here again.
New forest golf course.
Good course and not too difficult. Can be wet and soggy in the winter. There are a lot of ponies wandering around but they are not usually a nuisance.
Course in poor condition
Played here last winter and was eager to return. However, we were very disappointed. The greens were in desperate need to a cut and some general maintenance which is ironic considering course maintenance had just finished. Hoof marks all over the greens from cows and horses which I understand they can’t control. Very few signs to direct players to the next tee and bushes often block the view to the flags on some holes. However, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the layout of the course is interesting, particularly the front 9. Back 9 is a tad boring. Needs some investment to improve course conditions
Didn’t play
Didn’t play even though we paid the green fee. Our tee time was 1436 right after an all day gents invitation which was not mentioned at the booking stage The course was mobbed and we would have been behind 50 x 4 balls. We decided to cut our losses and play another course for which we got an
earlier tee time and much closer to home.
Thoroughly Enjoyable
Really enjoyed this course. Very friendly and welcoming. A good and fair test in a lovely setting. I will definitely be looking forward to playing here again. I definitely recommend playing here to anyone getting the chance to play this course
