Little gem
Played here today 16th of June and gotta say the course is fantastic the lay out of some holes makes it so interesting, I agree with previous review on here greens had repair patches but that can’t be helped and it’s only on one the 10th hole,
The bunker was nice to hit out of although I was only in one ,
Overall I’d definitely give this course a try, don’t expect a pristine course, but you’ll experience a great fun course
Let down
The course is in poor condition right now. The practise green has dead grass lines in it, as does another one of the holes. There’s bunkers under repair, there’s under repair areas in some fairways and round some greens. There’s patches on the greens where they have replaced large sections of it and it hasn’t taken.
The bunkers, other than the 18th, were rock hard with no sand in even though they have loads of sand in the car park.
The tee boxes were’t cut. The fair ways were uncut. The greens were uncut. I played on a Sunday? Shouldn’t the course be ready to go for a Sunday and it’s nearly summer. The course should be in a better condition by now.
Overall very disappointed to say I paid £25 each.
Poor weather didn't damage the round
Given the recent bad weather this course is in fantastic condition.. the fairways are beautifully cut, bunkers well looked after and all but a couple of the greens in superb condition..
Shame it's nearly an hour away otherwise I'd be a member all year long
Great course always a pleasure to have a round here
Looking forward to the next one
Not Augusta but good fun
Positives: Some challenging and interesting holes. Bar and outside seating area nice.
Negatives: Fairways bumpy and grass long. Greens bumpy, bare patches and slow.
Greens and holes
Disappointed with greens as very bobbly and rough.
2 holes still temporary . However new bunkers and sand are a plus .
Very wet course
We were told upon arrival at the course, that there were 6 temporary greens. That was not acceptable as we travelled a fair distance to play this course. We expected to get a good deal on the hot deals offer from golf now but yet again with the pound booking fee on top of the price to play it was only a pound cheaper, so not a hot deal at all. I will not be using golf now again.
The service from staff and food in restaurant was exceptional. We have played and enjoyed this course on numerous occasions without problems.
Regrettably we were not informed about the state of the course and did not receive any compensation or reduction in price as we booked with golf now.
Well presented, challenging course!
Played Normanby a few times now and have enjoyed it every time. This was my time playing here in the winter months. There were a few temp greens which is to be expected obviously, but they were playable. I came here after some rain and the ground held up very well, there were no signs of bogginess or water logging from what I could see anywhere on the course.
The clubhouse has everything you need and the bar has a fantastic view looking out over the 18th green and beyond. There is also a balcony which is brilliant when the weather is warmer. Once again I enjoyed my time playing this course and I look forward to returning again soon.
Normanby hall course
First time on the course, And wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was with the terrible weather couple of temp greens and playing off winter tee’s. But the course and greens where really nice can’t wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the course some more
Slow play
Course was sodden through hole12 was out of action .stuck behind a members formally that would not let me through no one was a head of them.
Winter golf
Nice course, still playable after all the rain, very soggy in places as expected. Only 2 temps so that was acceptable.
Was just nice to get out again.
Normanby Hall
The course was open when most were closed due to the recent rain. It was a bit soggy in places, but just about playable. Most of the bunkers were being worked upon and will look good next year.
Quite a bit of crow damage on the fairways.
Greens in decent Nick though for the time of year.
Think this guy played a different course to others
