Lots of potential to become first rate
We played after a prolonged dry spell so a number of bunkers were quite hard and some patches of grass were pretty scrubby. Additionally, the greens have recently been hollow tined - has to be done I realise - so putting wasn’t great. However, with recent rain, all will come back I’m sure and I’ll bet in about three weeks when the mowing regime gets underway and the greens cut and ironed, this will transform into a first rate course.
Greens a little bumpy
Excellent course, fairways in great nick but greens a little bumpy and very sandy, but you can see work has been done and I expect with some more rain and sunshine the greens will recover, have played Oakridge a few times now and am never disappointed
Nice course
Only thing that let the course down was the greens. Bobbly, spongy, and sandy. But just coming out of winter period so didn’t complain at all. Would recommend
Descent course
Decent course for price, greens need some work but it’s only April.
Lots of greens slope down so a good shot will often roll straight of the back.
I would say Atherstone at same green fee is is better value and if you want a real golfing test of your game.
Testing in the wind
(Somehow) We split a golf society which made life interesting. The rough has been cut right back which is a good thing, but against that the greens were lush and incredibly slow.
Disappointing
A very tightly squeezed in golf course with too many pinch points for my liking. The greens were patchy and bumpy and the Tee boxes no better. I didn’t expect a course in such poor condition for £25 . The staff and clubhouse were friendly enough and it’s very peaceful with no road noise but won’t be returning to play again.
Great but tough course
This course is not for the faint hearted. Tight fairways and greens surrounded by bunkers make it a challenge for any golfer but it’s a wonderfully laid out course. Some greens on the front 9 could do with some attention but other than that great value for money. Excellent pace of play too.
Poor greens
Generally the course was Ok but the greens were poor- you couldn’t putt with certainty - very bobbly
Teeing off on the fairways wasn’t great as some of them were uneven to stand on and tee off
Great value.
It’s a little hilly but quite forgiving but challenging at the same time.
Lost a few balls because of plugging in areas
Wet and slow
Played there many a time and must say it’s in a very poor condition at moment and after playing I think it shouldn’t have been open.
