Okehampton Golf Club

I have played the course before. It isn't particularly long but is pretty hilly with many fairways sloping which makes shots and play pretty technical.

The course is always in very good condition and the Green keepers are always on the go.

There were major repairs going to the drainage of the greens so there were a number of temporary greens when we played. That isn't ideal but it is always necessary to make improvements to courses and the rest of the course is kept in brilliant condition with the green very good fast and true.

The club house staff and pro shop are always very helpful and it is a very nice members club in stunning scenery on the edge of Dartmoor.

Always enjoy playing at Okehampton. The staff are so friendly & helpful.

The course was in good condition & there are a good variety of holes, with some really intreresting ones.

Always like to play the course on the way down to Cornwall!

Wish I'd played here sooner. Living in Plymouth it's not too far, so really surprised that it has not been mentioned to me before. Beautiful course in a lovely scenic location. Looking at the course on Google satellite maps the course look pretty standard, which it is not. The elevation and contours of the course make for some really great holes. Really well kept and the greens where just incredible, it was a hot day and greens were extremely fast, but some of the best I have played. Massive thumbs up to the green keepers. The only downside (and I'm nit picking here) is the lack of outdoor seating for a drink afterwards, considering the setting this would really be a lovely place to enjoy a pint in the sun after some mediocre golf.

A lovely morning at Okehampton. Greeted by a very friendly pro and the members teeing off after us were equally as welcoming.

Followed the seniors around and pace of play was great. 2 ball just about kept up with them.

Well manicured course with some tricky greens.

Excellent course.Many of the fairways slope so although not long it is very technical with lots of trees.The Greens were magnificent.Very true and fast despite the rain.Very pretty and picturesque on the edge of Dartmoor.Would definitely recommend.Club House staff and Pro very helpful and hospitable.

Played Okehampton golf course for the first time and was very impressed with both the condition of it and the layout. Both enjoyable but at the same time challenging. Will certainly be back.

We did not enjoy our round at this club. It was extremely slow due to overbooking of societies.We decided to quit after 9 holes and 3 hours of waiting around. The course has a very unfortunate design. Almost every hole has a downhill slope so that the ball never lands where you expect it to. Most of the fairways were in poor shape wiih large burned out spots. We would not come back here.

Course is in good condition but very tight with quite a few blind holes and lots of sloping fairways and greens

Thankfully errant tee shots don't mean a ruined scorecard on plenty of holes. I putted reasonably well on consistent greens hence the reward of the 2s. Played with a good young visitor and enjoyed the course in pretty good condition.

We were given a really warm welcome by the club pro as the snow came down! The course is in great condition and while it’s a shorter course, it provided a really good challenge for us higher handicappers. Moderately hilly course but easy to walk. Really looking forward to playing here again soon.
