Okehampton Golf Club

Golf nowadays has got expensive, so when we saw this at £18 squid I booked it straight away.

Tee off 13:14 arrived early and ordered a bacon butty and coffee for my buddy and a cold pint for me.

All staff were smiling and relaxed.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous 23 degrees.

There was a club comp out just before us but everyone was buzzing and they all played at a really good pace.

The course was manicured the best I’ve ever seen it, fast greens, good Tee boxes and short grass.

Had a brilliant day, can’t wait to return.

I really liked this course, back 9 was better than the front 9, green were good and challenging, a bit hilly overall but some cracking holes! welcoming, friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, food was nice, great beers on tap, lovely little club house…. Well done okehampton, we’ll be back and we’ll spread the word that it’s definitely worth a visit! Thank you

Course in good condition and well trimmed, with all greens in play. We were forewarned that the all the greens had just been spiked and sanded, which made them play a little unpredictably.

Due to the dry conditions the sloping fairways on some holes, it made it difficult to keep the ball on the fairways. Good scoring and a pleasant afternoon spent.

I think this would be an amazing course to play in summer.

Wait was, there were only 13 holes open and 7 of them were on temporary greens.

Signage on course is also not great if you have not played before making it difficult to navigate from tee to green and from green to next tee.

Mustn't complain too much though as we paid a good price and it was a nice day.

The course is challenging with a number of sloping fairways and the greens in fantastic condition. The green keepers have done an outstanding job.

Very friendly welcome in the pro shop and chatty members out on course.

Definitely recommend playing here.

Love this course and the welcome in the pro shop and the bar afterwards. The course doesn't need driver off the tee always (I'm currently 17.4 handicap), so it's nice to manage what's in your bag and go for position and then a favourite approach distance. Put my approach to the 5th a yard from the flag for my first Birdie there, and had some pars and the usual! 41 out 48 in. I'll be back!

Good greens very quick but not my cup of tea as a course

Course in great condition - the hills always a challenge for me.

A well kept corse with challenging greens and hole that kept it interesting even though it is a short course with 1 par 5. Will definitely place again and would suggest to any one in the area that hasn't played it to give it a go. Beautiful parkland course with Beautiful views played on a sunny day can't be beat.

This is a well kept local course with some really friendly people. It will test you at times with the slopes and hills but otherwise a cracking little course.

The course was in excellent condition compared to a previous venue last week that was quite boggy with uncut fairways. The bunkers looked well maintained although I was lucky enough not to have gone in any of them.

All the staff were helpful and informative and we will definitely return here at some stage this summer.
